It sure looks great but whats the use if you average 10-12,000 a game. There isn't. And if you think you can go to I-A with a stadium and small attendances; think again.

Ah, leave it to a Youngy to bring out the negativity.

Funding is secure, all $35 million of it. Work will start after this season is over.

Looks great. The best part hands down is the removal of the track. Tracks do not belong around football fields.

Looks nice Toppers
And Fly, YSU isn't exactly packing them in. Only 11k this past Sat and probably more like 9k butts in seats. Pretty sad

We are averaging around 14,000 I think. Of course that isn't good but the weather in Youngstown always sucks. And I think 11,000 people were there. Where I was it sure sounded and looked like it on the 50.
I love the idea for the stadium expansion but this is all for a I-A Move Up Plan. And How can a team averaging that low attendance be allowed in the I-A. They can't. Nor would YSU either I am just saying you will need to stretch some numbers for it all to work.

Well Fly,
If you have ever been to LT Smith, you would know how desperately this is needed. Regardless of any plans for eventual move to 1-A (with poor support or not) we need upgraded facilities. Everyone know we have some of the worst facilites in 1-AA.

Funny, Youngy's make fun of our one-sided stadium and then complain that we are doing something about it.
I've learned YSU fans are against ANYONE going I-A, they have been since they were jaded by the MAC, when the MAC chose BUFFALO, yes BUFFALO, over YSU.

I am not against teams for moving up. Buffalo and Temple should not be up there and teams like GSU and Montana should.
Anyways I was at your place before and I didn't think they were bad. But for you attendance needs I thought it was pretty perfect.

nail in the coffin.
$200 per student per year.
$200 x 16,000 students= $3,200,000
should be paid off in around 10 years.
NOTE: This numbers may not be accurate thats just what I've heard

I recently read where the student population at WKU was 18,391. So the revenue coming in from the athletic fee is probably higher, but I am not sure what, if any, part time and graduate students pay.
WKU sure has grown. I was about 12,000 then I was there in the mid 90's.
If the new stadium looks anywhere close to our basketball arena, then it will be very nice.

That is very impressive. We are currently in the process of having plans made to rebuild our current endzone facility, and here's to hoping that it is anywhere near as nice. But lately, at GSU, things just havent been the same...

Chief,
I loved your place - most awesome atmosphere I have ever seen in 1-AA. I hope our place can look (and sound - ie Crowd) like GSU's soon!
