Well since I can't think of anything else to say it hit me that this might be an interesting thread. Hopefully!

What would you consider as one of those "wood shed" moments for your favorite FCS team. Either from FBS teams or FCS teams.

For me I can think of several, in 1990 we got hammered by Clemson 48-0, NCSU 56-0 and the worst of them all was against SoCon rival Marshall 50-0xbawlingx

The GSU game from '04 wasn't much better at 54-7. But I had graduated by then.

The GSU game from '04 wasn't much better at 54-7. But I had graduated by then.

A couple of recent 62-0 blastings at the hands of Texas Tech and Kansas come to mind. Northwestern State got us 87-27 our first year back, but we even beat ourselves 35-27 in the same game.

2006: lost 45-28 again to ASU (it was 31-0 at halftime)
2007: lost 45-10 at James Madison (Dukes got payback from '05)

Those are CCU's three most-lopsided defeats in our program's five-year history. Not too bad. :D

The 51-14 thrashing the Bison handed the Mustangs was by far the worse thumping of a Ellerson led football team. The Bison dominated both sides of the ball.

The game was not as close as the score indicates. I'm not saying that score is close at all, but we should have been beaten much worse on that day.

Sorry skinny. That was one of my favorite games ever, especially that moment 93 posted. That was near the end of the first half with the Hens already up big, but it was the exclamation point on a great first half for the Hens. I remember the crowd just going insane at that point. It was a very cold day, but nobody felt cold at that moment.

My first three years at Towson we SUCKED BAD. Just moved up to I-AA the year before 1988 and finished at 5-5. Meggett and 4/5ths of the o-line graduated. We won 5 games over my TF, RF and Soph years(2-8, 2-9, 1-10). Too many woodshed moments to remember.

Gordy came in and turned things around my Junior year(5-5, 8-2) and we avenged our losses to every team that scored 50+ points on us the previous three years, including JMU in '92. :)

If we're counting wins then my favorite would be the 55-25 whipping we laid on Alabama A&M in 2003.

A little backstory, both teams were undefeated heading into this early October game. Some of the Bulldog players mouthed off in the newspaper all week and forgot to bring their game with them to Mumford Stadium. The game wasn't as close as the score. The crowd rode those guys from the moment they came into the stadium for pregame warmups. Lots of humble pie was served.

That was an amazing turn around between those two years. I thought we had the talent to handle you guys in 2005 and you just handed it to us. Then in 06, I thought you were going to do it again and you were on your way since I think it was 14-0 early in the 1st quarter, for sure it was 7-0 when you marched down on the first drive very easily. After that to score 51 was just unbelievable.

Back in the 1992 season, when we made the run to the NAIA title game, our 12-2 season was bookended by losses. The championship, 19-16 to Central State, OH, but the opener that year was an absolute drubbing by UCF in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando 71-21.

The 45-0 game against Furman a few years back sucked too. Shutouts are particularly demoralizing.

I don't mind taking one on the cheek to a FBS squad because we have to start somewhere. And, the more FBS schools we play, the better our chances are of getting an upset. It can and will happen.

My four years at CSU were '94-'98. I can't remember missing a home football game during my time there. I have a personal policy of never leaving early (any sporting event, no matter how bad it gets). So, I sat through many a wood shed moment. Too many to name just one.

I am just thankful that the school has decided to take football seriously. I am also thankful for the great job that Coach Mills is doing in building the program and getting it headed in the right direction. Keep up the great work, Coach!!!

Compared to my time at CSU, it is a joy to go to a CSU football game.

I think he was referring to how you guys got PHYSICALLY dominated in the second half. You guys were toe to toe with NDSU in the first half but that is it. It's hard to run plays when the defense has moved the line of scrimmage backwards on every play. Hey, it happens. Cal Poly did it to us in 2005...we returned the favor in 2006. I wouldn't say that game was an ass whooping...but to go into someone else's house and come out with a 20 point win while coasting the fourth quarter is a substancial win by any standard.

second half stats...GSU 32 plays 74 yards 0 points.. the stats would have been worse if you take out the 31 yards gained in the final :18 of the game. (29 plays 43 yards of offense for 29:42 of second half)

What would you consider as one of those "wood shed" moments for your favorite FCS team. Either from FBS teams or FCS teams.

For me I can think of several, in 1990 we got hammered by Clemson 48-0, NCSU 56-0 and the worst of them all was against SoCon rival Marshall 50-0xbawlingx

The GSU game from '04 wasn't much better at 54-7. But I had graduated by then.
