High School -- Cooper played his sophomore and junior seasons at Skyline High School in Oakland and finished his prep career at Union Mine High School, leading the Diamondbacks to a 10-2 overall record, 5-0 Sierra Valley League mark and the finals of the CIF-Sac-Joaquin Division II playoffs under head coach Dave Johnson.
