The state is changing it's name to Minnichoka. Now there will be the Minnichoka Gophers, Minnichoka Vikings etc.... ;)

I watched the end of the Purdue - N'western game. Man, I could have stranged Randy Walker. 2+ minutes to go, first and goal from inside the 10 and he calls 2 pass plays in the end zone!!!! NU is a power running team. You're down by 1, so you have 3 plays to get into the endzone. Why pass? That only leaves more time on the clock for Purdue AND they get to keep their timeouts! I wanted Northwestern to win, but had to start cheering for Purdue out of principle!

Its called the Mike Dunbar offense. He's the OC there and former UNI panther coach. It did that a lot and it cost us many a game. It was a big reason we didn't win the Gateway and/or make the playoffs each year he coached.

The Penn st/Mich game had a fantastic finish too,I listened to it on my way home from Bucknell.
PSU takes the lead with 53 sec.left to play, but Mich has a great return on the ensuing KO.At one point during the drive, the officials put 2 clicks back on the game clock and don't you know there's only 1 sec. left when Mich lines up to take the final snap.Henne connected with a ten yard TD pass to get the win.Coach Carr called it the wildest game he's ever been in.
