Turnovers again. el cid scored on a 20-yard drive after our fumble, then Ingle got picked off on a flea flicker in the end zone. Plus, Rust dropped a WIDE OPEN TD pass in the end zone. We look bad.
I think el cid has less than 100 yards in the first half to our 200+, but we can't convert.

Furman driving down to the Citadel 19 with just over a minute and a half left. The Citadel playcalling on offense has gone insanely conservative in the 4th quarter.

Yahoo also had Furman scoring 14 pts inthe first Quarter, but they updated changed it. ESPN however took a different route. The sport Network also had Furman scoring 14 in the 1st Qtr but they changed their score too

Yahoo has been messing up their scores lately, along with others.

Furman scores and gets the 2 pt conversion. Citadel on 4th down throws in the endzone and it's caught but the Citadel player is ruled out of bounds even though he was knocked out of bounds by the Furman defender.
Furman wins 39-31.

They are slowly securing a spot in the post season.
Question is how long can this stuff last?
For us last year, we had several close wins, could be a trademark of another championship team.
Looks like someone will have to travel to SC this November!

I was at the game with a few other students. Furman looked awful for 3 quarters. The best thing that might have happened to Furman was Ingle getting hurt. It wasn't that I wanted Ingle to get hurt or anything, but it forced us to do what we do best and that's run the ball. Backup QB Renaldo Gray played well enough and made a couple of good throws when he had to. Our sure handed TE John Rust, dropped 2 TD's today so that didn't help either.
I'll give credit to the Citadel. They might be the scrappiest team I've ever seen. The thing that did them in was that the El Cid coaches took their foot completely off the gas, for the most part, later in the game. That being said, El Cid didn't run but about 5 plays the whole game (RB draw, 2 variations of the WR screen, WR sweep, QB sweep/spread option).
Anyways...I'm going to stop now b/c I'm tired and I'm rambling. Furman found a way to win again and that's all that matters. At this rate though Elon might take us to 5 overtimes next week. I know I'm young, but my heart can't take many more of these games.

It is tough on the fans yes. I keep thinking sooner or later we have to blow someone out. On the other hand, this has been the most exciting season (still winning) I have seen in a long time. I will not complain about the close games, but I could use at least one breather (and I am not talking about a bye week :) )

Even in that one I was breathing a little faster than I would have preferred.

This isn't the NFL, when your feet come down two yards out of bounds it isn't a catch.
