General manager Jim Hendry sent special assistant Ken Kravec to scout Boston this week in Cincinnati and Philadelphia. The Cubs still are interested in Red Sox center fielder Coco Crisp, and now may be willing to include Rich Hill in a multiplayer package. Murton was acquired from Boston in the Nomar Garciaparra deal in '04.

Interesting...Crisp was removed from the game after one at bat today. I wasn't aware of any injury..Perhaps the trigger was pulled on the deal during the game?..xconfusedx

he had a sore hand, he will be examined in Boston tomorrow but Francona expects him in the lineup for the next game friday so it doesnt appear to be anything.

Hill has not found the plate this year. He was supposed to be a consistent force in the rotation this year but can't even locate in AAA. It seems as if the Cubs are through with him.

Edmonds left today with a foot injury so I'm sure the Cubs will be looking for a CF even more. Murton hasn't done much. Unless Felix Pie can get his act together, which is unlikely, this might not be a bad deal for them.

Maybe he can play centerfield, ala Rick Ankiel? xlolx

I would hate to see the Cubs trade Hill. Rich has got great stuff and was looking to take a step forward this year. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to find the strike zone. The Cubs better not make that deal because I think they are giving up way too much for a player that doesn't help the team that much. I do understand that they feel obligated to trade Murton and I think they should for his case, but they better get much more than Crisp for those two.

With Zambrano having shoulder trouble, It'll be interesting if the Cubs bring Hill back up or trade him for a starter.

As expected Crisp's injury was nothing and he is back in the lineup tonite.
