Congrats to the winners but IMO, Texas State's media guide is as good as any of them. Maybe they weren't entered.

Chuck South put together a damn fine one this past year. Check it out here:

Before Mills got there I think it was just some Xeroxed pages with stats and rosters on it.

Maybe they were held back by the Southland :p .
All kidding aside (yes, agreed on Texas State's), I'm kind of partial to this one.

I'm partial to ours as well, but figured I'd give props where they're due. Of course Texas State's should be nice given the resources they have to put into it.

The quality of media guide in the SLC has gone up over the last few years. I received a few of them this past year, but not that of the school in San Marcos, so can not comment on that. I know they've had some change over in their sports information crew, so we'll see what the new crew puts out...
Others I got to partake in this past year were Northern Arizona, Chuck South, Elon, Delaware, those are the ones that stick out in my head...

I know Missouri State wouldnt be on there, our SID sucks. Glad he is retiring. Our website is never updated, information is late to get out, media guides are alright but its been the same design for years now.

Liberty's is nice, but way too busy and pretty simple.

Really? I was not as big a fan of this past year's. Guess it was the cover that I did not like. Would have to look back at it. Each guide was pretty solid in terms of being able to find information, always felt the SLC did a good job. There's some very strong people in the office right now.

Here's Southern's (http://gojagsports.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/sout/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2007MediaGuide) it's not great but it gets the job done.

Yes there much better laid out, and cover design have improved. SHSU Media guide was so bad design wise that it hurt me to get it in the mail, but now they look nice and easy to flip through.

I like SHSU's new media guide. The last one was pretty solid. I think having another guy in the department made a difference took much of the burden off of just having one individual.
The #2 in the department has a great deal of layout and design experience plus much more familiar with new technologies. While the #1 has a great deal of SID and media guide know-how, just a great source in the field and greatly respected. The two of them together makes a huge difference.
