Future HOFer Ken Griffey Jr has apparently told Reds officials he would be willing to waive his no trade clause if a deal could be worked out with Tampa Bay.
The trade would benefit him in two ways, one being he would move to a current playoff contender and second he would be playing closer to where he lives.

If he stays healthy, this would be great for the Rays and the Tampa Bay area. xthumbsupx

It would be great for the Rays, hopefully they can pull a Florida Marlins type of run and win a World Series with Griffey on the team. It would be nice to see him get one.

yeah it would... he's on that list of best players without ring right now.
plus, you have to respect a guy who played through the steroids era without juicing.

But do the Rays need him..?
what would they have to give up (be careful) The Reds are rebuilding and need young talent...
it would have to be a salary dump and crappy players - if I'm the Rays... they are headed in the right direction (with or without) Griffey

I tried to think about that last night and it wasn't too many names that I could come up with. I've heard RF Gabe Gross being mentioned as trade bait from the Rays.

I agree, growing up I was a huge Griffey fan. Had a poster and collected his cards. It was a shame to see him suffer so many injuries that made him kind of disappear in Cincinnati (not to mention being in Cincy). It's amazing to think that with him being injured so much he still has hit 600 home runs. If not for those injuries, we wouldn't care so much about Bonds breaking Aaron's record.
