Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine came out and that's a big deal in Texas, where the magazine is the preseason bible to all things football, namely college and HS. Here's their projected order of finish in the SLC.
Order of Finish:
1) Central Arkansas
2) McNeese State
3) Northwestern State
4) Texas St-San Marcos
5) Sam Houston State
6) Nicholls State
7) Southeastern Louisiana
8) Stephen F Ausitn

SFA finishing in the basement we do...xnodx
Not sure we agree with being fifth in the SLC however or the San Marcos felines being ahead of us.

No, especially for FCS and D2.

Is Central Arkansas eligible for the FCS playoffs? If not, and they win the conference, does the second place team receive an auto-bid to the tournament?

No, especially for FCS and D2.
The only research Camp's folx perform is big xii (mainly riding on ut-austin and tx a&m lol) and the other d-1 FBSers in state. Otherwise, there'll barely get your name correct yet alone the direction the FCS programmes here are heading.
At one point Richard Dean (houston chron) gave them input on the houston area FCS squads. Not sure who contributes currently.

Yep, the SLC's #2 team would get the AQ. Wonder if this has ever happened before...chances are very good for UCA to have a chance at the conference title when they hit the field against the Pokes to close the regular season.

I could see UCA winning the SLC this year. They get the Cowboys at home.
UCA, please do not drop another 70 spot on my Bobcats this year.

On page 14 of Texas Football there is a nice little vignette about Jerry Moore. The piece is titled: "Mountain Man: Texan Jerry Moore Excels at Appalachian State."
Even in Texas they are still talking about Appalachian.

Finally saw the Texas bible for myself and as I thought, they received inputs from Richard Dean of the houston chron.
