Drake is hosting the NCAAs that get underway today and run into the weekend. Glad to see Drake hosting, they do a great job with T&F meets up there...

Kats have three participants. I know a few of your schools got some folks having a go at it either in the field or on the track. I'll be keeping tabs.

How many athletes do you have? Any have a chance at winning nationals?

Albany has Luke Schoen in men's pole vault and I think that's it.

I usually really get into T&F nationals as my nephew is one of the best athletes in the nation. He's out this year though. Just had his elbow totally reconstructed after throwing it out in javelin. Bad year to get hurt too - missing the Olympics and all.

Expect to see either Jangy Addy from Tenn or Gonzalo Barriolhet from Florida State win this. Bioth are great athletes. Decathalon is the true test of an athlete. Grueling.

Sharon Day from Cal Poly has the best NCAA high jump of the year at 6' 4 3/4", which is also the second best jump in the US this year. She's already met the Olympic A qualifying standard, so if she finishes in the top 4 at the Olympic Trials later this month, she'll be off to Beijing!

Not FCS, but Angela went to the same school as my kids. Scary thing is, many folks will tell you she's a better musician (flute) than athlete.

Towson's Kelly Robinson, a senior, fell shot to move on in the javelin, her 147'9" was just short of the top 12.

She was also on the Towson basketball team and scored over 1000 pts in her four year career.
