If money wasn't an object.

Who would be your dream OOC schedule? Try to pick 4 teams

For me, at the top of my list, its a no brainer

Montana Griz in Boone of course
JMU
UNI
Youngstown State

Close seconds: Delware, Southern U. and McNeese St.

Money no object, eh?

1. Delaware (at our house this time)
2. North Dakota State (on the road to see what scenery looks like with no mountains blocking you)
3. Cal Poly (home or away, good to get another California rivalry started)
4. San Diego (home or away, see how we stack up against those might Torerros).

Teams we have not scheduled before. Our series with McNeese was really good and I'd like to see us play the Cowboys home and home again. Really, I've enjoyed all our games with the Southland and hope we can schedule those teams again. If Glanville stays for awhile, scheduling the SoCon might also be possible as he seems to have a soft spot for the Atlanta area due to his time with the Falcons.

Some combination of...

Montana (I believe both of our fans have enjoyed the rivalry)
Cal Poly (they've played a few SLC squads, a strong opponent from the West)
Yale/Harvard (just the significance and name of those programs)
Texas Southern (so 3rd Coast Tiger can get a front row seat of a Bearkat blowout of the Tigers)

Every Ivy League fan still hopes the League will allow the teams to schedule opponents in the South and the Midwest, so barring their "hidden agendas" that prevent those matchups from happening:

For Harvard:
Georgia Southern (who is the real FCS team?)
Appalachian State (ditto Georgia Southern)
Montana (no Ivy League team has set foot in Washington-Griz)
Wofford (nothing meaningful to say but it would be a great match)

Runners-up: Grambling/Southern, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, UMass (we haven't played them in like 20 years), Boston College (FBS - distant possibility), Duke (ditto Boston College), Stanford (also distant), Tulane (also distant)

Well, considering w play all my good friend' schools now.... the only way I could see it get better is to play my dad's school, East Carolina and co-worker's schools Akron, Duke and Wake Forest.

But in reality. I'd like to see play some Patriots, East Carolina, Vanderbilt.

Over the past few years I've enjoyed just about all the OOC games that ASU has played. Most have been in the playoffs, but they're teams I probably wouldn't get to see normally.

I think Richmond's OOC is set up pretty well this year.

A game against a good SoCon team (Elon), a game against a in state FCS rival (VMI) a game against a instate FBS rival (UVA), and a game against a somewhat local academic rival that will be a bit of an easier game (Georgetown). The only problem with this year's schedule is that 3 of the 4 are on the road. I would rather the Elon or VMI game was at home to balance it out.

Assuming 4 OOC games per year here would be my wish for UCA:

(1) UAPB in War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. Would be fun for fans of both teams, good tailgating, etc.

(2) Home and home with regional team: Missouri State best choice.

(3) Home and home with "National Power". Northern Iowa would be my first choice. Montana, N. Dakota State, Ga. Southern, App St. others.

(4) "Money Game" with Arkansas State in Jonesboro initially until attendance warrants move to War Memorial.

For a dream OOC I'd like to see:

Not really a Dream OOC schedule but a question instead. Why does most people want to play either at Montana or have Montana come to their stadium and play? Just wondering because it seems that the usual stand-by smack is weak OCC and they never play anybody but bottom feeders and they play in the Big Fluffy Sky.

Why would you want to play a team that is obviously flawed and cannot hang with the big dogs?

For UNH, my Dream OOC, over time, would be a bunch of rematch games...two, in particular.

Montana, in Durham. Goddam Craig Ochs.
Northern Iowa, at the UNIDOME. I want to go this time.

I wouldn't want to play them in the same year, obviously, as my ideal OOC would be either UNI or Montana, an FBS Money Game, a game with Holy Cross, Harvard, Yale or the like (A New England School), and if there is a twelve game schedule, another easier FCS matchup.

Lehigh shouldn't have ended the series when it was commonplace for UD and Lehigh to play. When Lehigh came back looking for some games is when UD got a little more stingy. Of course, it's not just being stingy as it is watching the pocketbook - making $500k per home game is a hard thing to give up just to satisfy a program that backed out of a series in the past. xreadx

G-W should have Western, Appy, Furman, or Wofford on the schedule every year. No regional flavor to our OOC schedule this year:

at Tenn Tech
TUSCULUM
at Austin Peay
SAM HOUSTON STATE
at Georgia Tech

The Sam Houston game is neat, but not an eye-popper that would draw a big crowd.

I haven't understood why we haven't scheduled Citadel or SC State since our move up from D-2 either.

My Dream Schedule:

Edward Waters
Allen (if they still have a team)
Paul Quinn
Concordia

All W's, especially since we don't have to worry about those pesky playoffs. xlolx

They folded their team a few years back.

You could play Benedict though.

Me personally, I would like to see us play:

1. El Cid(every year you wusses)
2. Wofford(got them for the next 4 years home and home)
3. Georgia Southern(quality FCS opponent)
4. App St.(Another quality FCS opponent)

And for FBS guys:
Any ACC or SEC team(Just for the paycheck)

***FBS - ECU/Duke
***FCS - JMU, W&M, Richmond (on our sked this year), NC A&T (even though their program is in the toliet, I wish the series continued) or Lehigh.

I'll take our '75 Schedule and make that my wish list:
South Carolina - W
Wake - W
ECU - W
Then throw in the D battery throwing, thundering turds from Marshall

Would love to revisit some old FBS rivalries and start anew or revisit some FCS series:

FBS
Syracuse
Penn State
Army
Nebraska
Michigan State
Ohio State
Rutgers
Notre Dame (we've never played the Fighting Irish)

FCS
Grambling
Pennsylvania
Delaware
The Citadel
Georgia Southern (we had a great playoff game with them in 1998)
Illinois State (they murdered us in a 1999 playoff game)
VMI
William & Mary (we have played them periodically over the years)
Butler
Davidson
Liberty
Wofford
