Whatever works. Mizzou Valley is pretty darn-well respected thanks to great basketball, so if it helps with exposure, it's a good move.
By the way, I don't think that Youngstown's or Indiana State's membership in the "Mizzou Valley FB Conference" should matter much despite the contradiction in geography. There's plenty of precedence: University of Arizona & Washington State in the Pac-10 (Pacific Ocean is six hours away); Marquette & DePaul in the "Big East" (trust me: anything central time does NOT associate with east coast); Jacksonville State in the OVC (why? because the Tennessee River drains into the Ohio hundreds of miles north?)
That's just my two cents;)

Jacksonville State in the OVC (why? because the Tennessee River drains into the Ohio hundreds of miles north?
(Sorry, gonna go all geography-nerd on you here ...)
It's actually worse than that. Tennessee Valley Conference would be a better name for the OVC, as there are more teams near that river than have anything to do with the Ohio. But SEMO and EIU are on the other side of the Mississippi, fer cryin' out loud. And even Jax State's not in the Tennessee basin; we're between the Coosa and Tallapoosa Rivers, which drain into the Gulf through the Alabama River, independently of the Mississippi.
I think this is a problem for the OVC (though probably not its biggest concern). I just don't know what the best choice for a new name is. The COSWASG? (Conference of Schools Without a Shared Geography) the SISBONBoT League? (Schools in States that Border or Nearly Border Tennessee)
Anyway, congrats to the MVC. If we revive the OVC-Gateway Challenge, we could re-christen it "War of the Valleys" or the "Valleys Challenge." Or not.

Mizzou is NOT the nickname for the state of Missouri, that goes only to the college in Columbia.
