I haven't watched a boxing event in probably 8 years. Everytime I watched a fight and it went to the score cards it made me and everybody in the room scratch our heads wondering if the judges were watching the same fight.
And another thing that ruined it for me. How many different titles are there, from how many different orginazations, for how many different weight classes. Seems pretty diluted if you ask me.

I understand that it is very popular but, I gave it a try and I'll not waste my time with it ever again. That is just my opinion.

I saw the fight on youtube, meh. I love the look and attitude of Kimbo Slice, but he better get into better condition before fighting someone that isn't a tomato.
That dudes ear was gross, and then Slice punched it! Yuck!

Kimbo Slice fight was ok. They stopped it too early, but I guess that had to since that guys unborn twin exploded out of his ear.
The best fight of the night was the two chicks. Not because the one that won was hot, but also because it was a really good fight. So much better then women's boxing. Clips: http://www.mmatko.com/gina-carano-vs-kaitlin-young-fight-video-elitexc/
I saw a UFC fight live in Vegas and it was a really cool experience. The upscale environment of a boxing match with just enough of the theatrics and attitude of wrestling (not too much though).
mmmmm.....Gina Carano

The fight that ended in a no contest was the best fight of the night...its unfortunate it ended early, but man those 2 guys took a beating and kept on ticking, like a Timex...Overall CBS put on the best show they could, who knew the 1st 2 matches would end within 90 seconds...my ONLY problem was after the 1st fight ended after 60 seconds...the 2nd match didnt start until at least a half hour later...Then on ESPN Sunday, Dana White took NO TIME TO RIP the televised event saying it was an embarassment to TV...Well then dickhead, maybe you should show some of your events on national TV and not on PPV for over $50s a pop

Slice is a beast but he's still got lots of training to do. I didn't even know his bout was going to be televised.

One of the greatest fighters ever, before he went to prison. Once he came out of prison he was a changed man and his fire was gone.

813Jag,
It was a blast... (in old guy language that means fun) xlolx
It was a 2 hour series of events lots of unnecessary hype but that's okay too
I guess there were about 6 fights
Kimbo and this even bigger guy was the Main event... as noted Kimbo punched him square on the ear and it exploded then Kimbo got him on the Jaw about three times and done..!!!

Wrong. Tyson was the most overrated fighter ever. He fought in the weakest era ever of heavyweight boxing, and the two good fighters he fought both knocked him out.

dude you got to be kidding. Tyson was a beast in the ring. The match was the Holyfield Tyson match before he was sent to prison.
I would have loved to seen Tyson and Holyfield fight in 93, when both were in thier prime.

Being the MMA fan that I am, I had to watch this.
I found it highly entertaining. Not so much for the action, but for the "spectacle". EliteXC looks like they are trying to add something to MMA that the UFC doesn't...fireworks, and dancing girls, both of which do it for me!
The EliteXC group has a fairly respectable group of fighters in their stable, so far; Frank Shamrock, Drew Frickett, Nick Diaz, and Ricco Rodrigues, to name a few, and I see them doing fairly well.
Although Kimbo has quite the reputation as a street fighter, I'm not sure he'd be the one I'd pick to mold a company around. If Slice continues to listen to his trainer, (Bas Rutten), and improve his cardio, he'll get a lot better. Until he does that, I think any mid-level heavyweight in the UFC would take him to school!
Believe dat!

Any word if Fedor has/will sign with Elite XC? I know there was talk of a four fight contract, but haven't heard anything recently.

I haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if both Fedor, and Randy Couture signed with EliteXC.
I know they both want to fight each other, and this would be a good one!

I agree with this point. Kimbo shouldn't be the face of any promotion yet.

Can say I haven't really followed the sport for years...However, being from Easton, PA, our 'hometown hero' Larry Holmes is being inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame tonight in upstate New York. Spent many years in the shadow of Ali, but defended the title for 7 1/2 years and his fight with Norton has to rank as one of the 5 greatest fights of all time in terms of all out pummeling of each other in the last several rounds (while Larry had a torn biceps).

I'm not joking. Holyfield was a cruiser weight in 93. Quick, name me one decent, not great because there were none, fighter Tyson beat?

You mean, if you walked into a bar and Kimbo was sitting at the bar drinking a beer, you wouldn't walk up and take his beer off the bar and start drinking it.

The WEC title fights the next night were pretty good.
As Cleets stated. Boxing is dead.
Oh yeah, I loved the EliteXC dancers.
