Since the Neers aren't in it and I don't want to root for Elon, I'll be rooting for, coincidentally, the team that is playing Elon today, UNCW. I grew up watching UNCW so I root for them when they don't come into competition with App. Plus UNCW is a really good team. #2 in the UNC regional. That'll be a tough-as-nails regional with Elon (SoCon Champ), UNCW (CAA Champ) and UNC (#2 National Seed). I feel bad for Mt St Mary's (NEC Champs, 21-32 record) a little bit.

I am rooting for Michigan since they haven't even been to a CWS since '86, but they would have to play Miami in a Super Regional, so I will take Wichita St. to win it all.

I know. If I'd had the money I would have gone to the tourney games. UNCW are still CAA Champs though. They won the more important title IMO. They didn't lose a singles CAA series.
And UNCW beat Elon today 5-2. UNCW's ace pitcher Holt went 8 2/3 with 6 hits and 2 ER. It was a battle of the aces today that UNCW got the better of.

San Diego dominated Cal today, 5-0. Matusz was nothing short of brilliant in his complete game shutout of a very good offensive team. Next up is the winner of the Long Beach State/Fresno State game.

SUPER REGIONALS HERE WE COME! 13 runs for the Thunderin' Beach Chickens in 2nd inning alone against the Purple Pirates. The blood bath ended with a 24-11 Coastal victory. 3-0 in our regional and now we're off to Cary, NC to play the Heels. Hopefully we can beat'em as bad as we did earlier this year @ their house.

Elon got a royal kick in the balls today.
In the elimination game today, Elon put a 4-spot in the bottom of the 8th to pad their lead against UNCW to 11-4.
Then in the 9th, UNCW gets an 11-spot to go up 15-11, and I believe all with one out. UNCW wins by the same score.
UNCW lost to UNC in the nightcap so UNC advanced, but that was pretty cool to see after I stopped watching the gamecast after Elon went up 11-4.

Looks like Bucknell woke up a sleeping giant. The Bison got eliminated 24-9. But what a great perfomance by their pitcher on Friday night. A complete game shut out of the nation's top hitting team.

Western Kentucky lost to Oklahoma State 3 - 5 and then was eliminated by TCU on Saturday 5 - 10.
It capped off a great athletic season for WKU winning 10 conference titles! Including their Cinderella season for men's basketball. What a season indeed. Oops.... I forgot one thing.
Next for WKU: The outdoor track and field national championships in Des Moines, IA.
WKU's 4x400 relay qualified by placing 3rd in the Mideast Regionals in Fayetteville, AR and the women's relay team fell just short finishing in 4th.
