Best Team: Cal Poly
Best Conference: Big Sky
Best Coach: Coastal Carolina's David Bennett
Best Win: UC Davis 20, Stanford 17
Best Game: Delaware 34, Lehigh 33 (OT)
Most Exciting Game: Bethune-Cookman 63, Norfolk State 61 (4 OT)
Biggest Disappointment: Jacksonville State
Biggest Surprise: Holy Cross and Tennessee-Martin

Best Team: Cal Poly
Best Conference: Big Sky (also Best surprise conference in 2005)
Best Coach: Cal Poly
Best Win: W&M Win over New Hampshire
Best Game: How do you argue UCD over Stanford - WKU loss to Auburn a close second
Most Exciting Game: Montana State over North Dakota State
Biggest Disappointment: Northern Arizona
Biggest Surprise: Youngstown/Hampton
Honorable mention: Weber (better than their record)
Biggest Story: Agreed- Katrina/Rita cancellations
Most Likely to Fade in the Second Half: New Hampshire

I would agree with all your choices except for one.I think UNH will be the most likely to fade over the remainder of the season,and that YSU could very well win the Gateway.

Could be.....and I will be saying a little prayer for another shot at YSU vs the Griz in WA-Griz stadium Come Nov/December.

Man, these are tough to call, especially best team IMO.
Midseason Honors
Best Team: WKU (I currently have them #1)
Best Conference: Gateway
Best Coach: Rich Ellerson, Cal Poly
Best Win: Coastal over JMU (got to stick with I-AA vs I-AA)
Best Game: Furman 34 - ASU 31
Most Exciting Game: Furman 34 - ASU 31
Biggest Disappointment: Delaware (yeah its personal, but lots of people had them highly ranked)
Biggest Surprise: YSU
Biggest Story: Hurricanes (not Miami or Tulsa variety)
Most Likely to Fade in the Second Half: Northern Iowa
Most Likely to Rise in the Second Half: Georgia Southern

Man, these are tough to call, especially best team IMO.

Best Team: WKU (I currently have them #1)
Hard to argue WKU....they are my #2 behind Cal-Poly, or else it woudl have been them as well in my nominee list.
This is tough, and I think we will all vote the games we know or see.....still interesting to see the comments.

How do you figure on UNH - I'll agree, they may not be as good as they've been made out to be, but they've got an easy schedule to finish: they have only 2 games on the road they should split at the worst (UMass and Hofstra) and they have 4 easy home games (URI, Northeastern, Iona, and Maine). At the worst they should be 9-2.

At the worst they should be 9-2.
I think they will come out on the short end against URI,UMass,Hofstra,and possibly Maine.
