I'll go with my heart and vote for the Angels.

I predict the Yankees will make it a short night for Colon.

LAA wins...

This way NLCS is on Weds night instead of Weds afternoon...

And with NYY out, it gives Astros more pub!

I say the Yankees also. They have too much experience to fall apart in this game and they got to Colon in game 1 and that memory will linger for him!

Yes I'm biased and no, I don't care. The Yankees' offense breaks out tonite, chases Colon early on, and Mussina pitches adequately enough for New York to earn it's 3rd game in as many days in as many time zones

Stupid scheduling decision, really.

Of course it was last year, but didn't they CHOKE against Boston in the ALCS

ABTY ... Anybody but the Yankees!

Well, as an angry Braves fan, I'll direct hate at my least favorite team, the New York Yankees, by voting for Vlad and the boys.

If I were Braves fan, I'd probably hate the Yankees too after the 1996 and 1999 World Series.

But, as a Yankee fan, I like the Braves a lot, because the Braves were so instrumental and helpful in making the Yankees the team of the 1990s. :)

Well, it is 5-3 Angles at the end of the 7th. Not looking good for the Yanks.

ANGELS WIN ANGELS WIN!

Take that Yankees and Steinbrenner. Can't buy championships! :p

It's funny that your idea of a Yankee failure is if they don't win it all.

That's 8-straight AL East titles for anyone keeping score, and 11 straight playoff appearances. During that span, the Yanks have won four WS titles.

Far in excess of what the law of averages would suggest.

What an absolutely awful picture. Charlie Hayes, why didn't you drop that foul ball?? Chipper was on deck. :(

Oh well, Yankees lose, too. At least I have something to be happy about, finally. Oh, well the Steelers won, too, so this was a good night.

My thoughts exactly. They beat the Red Sox and won the AL-East. I would have loved to see them win more, but given how many, especially on this board, were writing the yanks off after their season start, this was a pretty good season.

I'm sure that's the way George sees it too. NOT!!!!! He doesn't go spend $207 MILLION and expect to buy Division Title flags to hang at Yankee Stadium! Given that lineup and the money he spent, anything less than a WS victory IS abject failure.

Common sense would say that he would finally (after 5 straight years of failing to "buy" a championship) understand he can't do that. But probably not. Expect next year's Yankee payroll to top $230 million. The Braves have 14 straight NL East titles and a WS victory, and have spent collectively about a billion less in that time frame than the Yankees....

All this is said with the understanding that the Diamonbacks "bought" their championship as well...

I have no problem with the team that makes the most money spending the most money. It's professional baseball afterall.

If saying this makes you feel good, go ahead and get it off your chest.

But it is a bit ridiculous to compare one WS title with four over the same period.

Joe, you missed my point. You may not see it as failure, but I guarantee you George does. He doesn't spend millions and millions of his own money to collect division titles or playoff appearances. That's why Joe Torre will be fired, Cashman will go, and there'll be another overhaul of their underperforming lineup. Book it.
