I know I'm asking the right group, you Guys/Gals are full of sports information. My question is, Has any sports City (Boston, Philadelphia etc....) won all the major Championships (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey) in one year?

As far as I know, no one has won all 4 in the same year. Three, not even once. Two is the most attained number so far.

The easy, quick answer would have to be no. I know it hasn't happened since the Original 6 in the NHL expanded so you'd have to go back pre-1967 to try to find one. Of the 6 only four were US: NY, Boston, Chicago and Detroit so now you're really limiting yourself. The Patriots didn't come into existance until 1960 and I don't think won any NFL Championships prior to the recent SB run and we know about the Curse. The Bulls were formed in 1966 so they're out. The Pistons first NBA title was 1989 so they're out. That only leaves NYC. We all know the Rangers 1941.... and the Knicks only have two NBA titles so they're out. I think I am right in saying no.

I remember in 1980-81 a magazine cover had Bill Bergey, Bobby Clark, Julius Erving and Mike Schmidt because all four Philly teams had made it to the finals over a two year stretch. That was a big deal at the time.

Boston (New England Patriots) did play in three finals in 1986, NBA, MLB and NFL. Only the Celtics won that year.

2008 - Boston

The Red Sox won the 2007 World Series and The Boston Celtics won the 2007-08 NBA Championship. Damn those Patriots! Well if they can win SB XLIII then Boston would be the first to hold 3 titles at the same time!

On a somewhat unrelated topic. My high school I believe in 1971 won the state Baseball, Hockey and Football championships.

Did they beat the Lakers in 6 or 7 games? Or did the Spurs make a comeback? xconfusedx xlolx

Dream On, New England (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lG0jOINaQLM)

The Celtics? The same Celtics that needed 7 games to beat the Atlanta Hawks? The same Celtics that still need to beat the Pistons and then likely the Lakers?

Besides, your dream scenario would involve the Sawks winning the World Series this year, and they can't even get 1st in the division :p
