Most Likely to Fade in the Second Half: Youngstown State

I can't wait for Paladin to read that...

I do have a beef with Dougherty on this one though. His quote "The depth in the Atlantic 10, Big Sky, Gateway, Southern and Southland Conferences will keep the races interesting on a weekly basis".

The Patriot League looks to be a 4 team race. That's not depth? That's because he says later on: "With a mediocre season for the Patriot League, the Crusaders should be in the hunt for the title down to the wire."

So teams getting upset in the A-10, Gateway, etc. mean depth, but in the Patriot League, it's called mediocre?

That's gets a big fat BULLS**T tag from my normally reserved self. I hope he reads this too. There's no feedback email on his column, or else I'd send it to him there.

He is entitled to an opinion. We are entitled to try to prove him wrong. What should be clear is this isn't the "average" I-AA season as #1 is an invitation to a loss and many teams were over-rated. Some still are.

The second half brings more surprises. :p
