Former Wake Forest DC Dean Hood takes over the Head Coaching spot at EKU after Danny Hope left for Purdue.

QB Allan Holland, the OVC offensive player of the year, will be back under center although he did not see any contact during the spring while he healed from a minor surgery he had right after the season.

I should mention - Richmond has a new coach, former Virginia asst Mike London, but Junior QB Eric Ward starts for his 3rd season in 2008.

I started this thread because it seemed like there was more turnover than usual this year.

SDSU has a new QB coach (Don Bailey formerly with Weber St and Montana St among others) and a Sr QB returning who is likely to be pushed by a So and incoming Fr QB.

Southern Illinois has both a new head coach (Dale Lennon replacing Jerry Kill) and will have a new QB with the graduation of Nick Hill. Hill is an undrafted free agent who signed a contract with the Chicago Bears.

Northern Iowa will start a new QB this year after the graduation of 4-year starter (and 2007 Walter Payton Award finalist), Eric Sanders. Pat Grace will most likely take over the starting role.

UNI's head coach will remain the same, however. Mark Farley, the 2007 Eddie Robinson Award Recipient, enters into his 8th season as head coach (and is also serving as interim Athletic Director for the time being)

Legendary coach Mike Kelly retired from Dayton. His long time defensive coordinator, Rick Chamberlin has become the new head coach. All everything QB, Kevin Hoyng has graduated as well. It looks like 5th year senior, Rob Florian will be the QB.

UNH will have a new QB in 2008 as Ricky Santos has graduated. R.J. Toman of Mission Viejo, CA is the expected starter.

GSU named RSFr Lee Chapple the starter coming out of spring, but I would imagine that situation is fluid as RSSo Billy Lowe was nursing injury and was shut down during drills.

TXST has a New DC: Coach Fred Bleil
At Texas State, Bleil will call in the defensive plays on game day and prepare the Bobcats' weekly defensive game plan.

-Coached linebackers at Tulane in 2007,
-Green Wave led Conference-USA in rushing defense, allowing 132.6 yards per game, and finished fourth in total defensive yards allowed.
-Tulane also was second in first downs allowed and tied for third among C-USA teams in quarterback sacks.
-Under Bleil, North Texas finished in the top three in the conference in scoring defense in both years, and ranked second in the league in pass defense in 96.
- Under his direction, the San Diego State Aztec secondary became a force in the Mountain West and across the nation. SDSU improved from 86th in the country in pass defense in 2002 to fourth in 2003. Aztec cornerbacks ranked first and second in the MWC in 2003 in passes defended and third for interceptions.
-Bleil was also the defensive coordinator at New Mexico from 1992 to 1995. In four seasons with the Lobos, Bleil helped improve the defense from one of the worst in the nation to one of the best in the WAC.

More of Coach Bleil's Bio can be seen at:
http://txstatebobcats.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/bleil_fred00.html

Coach Bleil brought new corners coach Steve Irvin.

Steve Irvin enters his first season as the defensive backs coach at Texas State University after serving as an assistant coach at College of the Desert in Palm Springs in 2007, when the Roadrunners posted a 9-1 regular season record, won a conference co-championship and advanced to the state playoffs for the first time in school history when they played Bakersfield in the Golden Empire Bowl. The College of the Desert also ranked second in total defense in conference play as well.

A New DL coach will be anounced soon.

No QB changes but keep an eye on Clint Toon who had a very impressive Spring game. He will challenge current starter Bradley George for playing time. Also Freshman QB Tim Hawkins will be making noise soon.
