Well, I was one game off a perfect prediction week again. UM erased some of the doubts I had about their offense, thanks to Cole Berquist. All 3 conference matches were won on the road by the Big 3.

#6 Montana 32 @ Idaho State 10 (catbob's prediction - 20-24)
#11 Eastern Washington 42 @ Northern Arizona 14 (catbob's prediction - 44-27)
#12 Montana State 27 @ Weber State 24 (catbob's prediction - 34-24)
Portland State 14 @ Boise State 21 (catbob's prediction - 21-42)
Azusa Pacific 19 @ Sacremento State 41 (catbob's prediction - 10-48)

My upset pick possibility (Weber over MSU) was as close to becoming true as you can get. Phew!

Standings :
Montana--------------- 2-0 4-1
Montana State--------- 2-0 4-2
Eastern Washington---- 2-1 3-2
Portland State--------- 1-1 3-3
Sacramento State------ 1-1 2-4
Idaho State------------ 1-2 3-3
Weber State----------- 1-2 2-4
Northern Arizona------- 0-3 2-4

Biggest win - UM
- The Griz have new life with Berquist in, and made a lot of believers out of them. Can he continue to impress? I believe he will. This is the kind of game that makes a season.
Biggest lost - ISU
- Now sitting at 1-2, they have to find a way to win when teams stop their running attack - Hagler won't beat you on his own. Their season turned on this game.

Surprise surprise, the big 3 sitting at top. All the teams looked a little shaky with early season losses, or early season question marks. UM is looking the best of the bunch, followed closely by EWU, and MSU trailing aways back in 3rd.

Games next week:
EWU @ UM (this game is HUGE)
Sac @ Weber (not so huge)
MSU @ PSU (do or die for both squads, especially PSU)
NAU & ISU both have a much needed bye week.

Next weeks games are the most important yet, and the EWU @ UM game is probably the game of the week in IAA.

I'd say all three are equally as huge, for certain teams...

EWU@UM---big game for EWU, not only because the game is in Missoula.
Sac@Weber---big game for Sac, a win puts them in the middle of the race.
MSU@PSU---big game for PSU, to win at home after a great showing in Boise.

If EWU, Sac and PSU were to pull out a win in each (not my predicitions, mind you), look at how the conference would be...

EWU 3-1
Mont 2-1
MSU 2-1
PSU 2-1
Sac 2-1

pretty dang close for mid-October.
