View Full Version : FCS QB's on NFL Rosters!

I decided to do a review of each NFL team's updated Depth Chart to see how many former FCS QB's were listed.. Here is the breakdown..

Each QB is grouped by his depth chart position. It's safe to say that any listed between the 3rd and 6th position will change throughout summer and pre-season camps as players battle for positions and some are listed further down because they are new free agents.. Jersey # is listed where available..

LISTED 1st:

JOSH McCOWN #4 - SAM HOUSTON STATE -- DOLPHINS

I didn't list Chad Pennington as Marshall was only I-AA 1 year with him as QB, when he played part of the season as a freshman in 95 and then reshirted their last year as I-AA..

18 Teams with at least 1 FCS QB on their roster. Raiders with 3.

JT O'Sullivan went to UCD, but never played at the FCS level.

Your right. I didn't look it up, but i thought his final year he may have been in their first transition year, but not so.. Too late to edit it now.xoopsx

When Romo was at Eastern Illinois how did his team do? I think that was before we joined FCS/I-AA, so I have no idea.

If Duante Culpepper signs with a team would he count?

I think UCF spent some time as 1-aa program early in his career.

I think UCF spent some time as 1-aa program early in his career.UCF was I-AA for Culpepper's first year there.

Jayson Foster signed as a free agent to Miami

however i dont think he signed as a QB

Brian White from Portland State signed a free agent contract with the Raiders. Anybody's guess as to whether he will make the team, but I wish him well.

Wasn't he a drop down from Colorado? I don't remember him doing anything spectacular at PSU.

Brian was a transfer from Colorado and like you I don't remember him doing much. When he transferred in he was under Tim Walsh' system where unless you was a senior you didn't get much playing time. I also remember hearing he was also susceptible to the Injury bug.

Maybe it's not update yet but Jaime Martin is list 2nd on the Saints depth chart at NFL.com

That is last years roster. Brunell is probably second and hopefully the red headed houdini beats out Palko for the third QB.

Loks like on June 10th Brian White was waived by the Raiders. Unless there is a team desperate for a QB he might have to settle for an Arena league team to prove his worth.

Last I heard Eric Sanders was in Buffalo.

Unfortunately, Sanders isn't on any NFL Depth chart right now.:(
