Ouch! Game is in WKU's hands now. Panthers really need some help w/ some other upsets in the league. Would be nice to see the Redbirds pick off Haddix and take it to the house again! :D

Fumble WKU!!! Illinois St recovers with 1:50 left!
That call almost cost us the game. The Haddix "fumble" was not a fumble. He was obviously down, but the call didn't go that way. At any rate, the call could've killed us. We didn't help ourselves with two other turnovers that went for Ill. St. TDs. Still, a win on the road is great regardless how poorly our defense played.

We killed ourselves, we should have won the game...Poor management of th clock KILLED us and the officiating kept their flags in their pockets until the 4th quarter. They called a huge (non) penalty on a huge return that absolutely killed us...cost us 50 yards!!! Congrats Tops...If our coach wasnt a complete moron and knew how tomanage a clock, we win!!

And of course congrats WKU on a well played game, your PK has balls the size of Texas, that kick to send the game to OT was Phenominal!!! My wife, 2 girls and I sat right in the WKU fans and I was asking around if anyone from this board posted, but I had no luck. I did sit next to an older gentleman who had 1 son that played for WKU in the past and 1 son who played for Vanderbilt, what a great person to sit and watch a game with. I want to say Thank You to all the WKU fans, they were VERY polite, well behaved, and very personable in general as I talked to many of them. And of course congrats on a TOUGH game... thats 3 in a row we lost by a FG!!!

It sounds like we did everything to give this game away, penalties, fumbles, untimely miscues and the like. We got real lucky to escape with a W last night. Somehow, we are finding the will to win when it counts (read-backs against the wall). I am really tired of these skin of our teeth victories, but I'll take `em! We are a much better team than our play is evident. But we are getting our injured players healthy now and it should get better (God willing) every week. Congrats to Matt and his Redbirds for a damn fine game!

Someone should start a poll on which Gateway teams will go to overtime next week. My guess would be WKU-MSU.

Illinois St. is extremely tough and played a heck of a game. We have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. Had the game firmly in hand with just a little over 2:00 to go and Haddix threw a very ill-advised pass that was picked off and went for a TD. Guess you can look at it two ways. Haddix made a big time blunder, or the Ill. St. defense was very opportunistic. Guess both could apply.

Both DO apply and everyone knows I was not discounting The `Birds with my comments. I give IL. St their due!

I think you misunderstood me. I know you gave Ill. St. props. I was just pointing out our own mistakes. The game should have never went into OT. We had it won and damn near gave it away by giving up 10 points in the last two minutes of regulation, both off turnovers. Those kinds of mistakes will catch up with us if they continue. Mistakes almost cost us the EKU and Ill. St. games, but we found a way to overcome them. Frankly, I don't want to have to do that again. We may not be so lucky again.

It was a WKU "mistake" that gave EKU any life in the game. Remember, we were leading 17-0 with about 4:00 to go in the first half when that ridiculous pitch-out was called resulting in a fumble at or inside our 10. Had EKU not gotten that turnover and scored before the half, the game would have been a blowout just like it was the entire first half to that point.

OH! Please! I see why they call you maniac!! You better get use to the idea that EKU is back and that the most storied football program in KY is NOT in Bowling Green. One National Championship does not a dynasty make....get over it! Frankly, wku is overated!

Look, your jealousy is really showing. Everything I posted was 100% accurate regarding the WKU-EKU game. I was there. WKU was mauling EKU up until the turnover right before he half. If you want to you can go back and check out my posts after the game. I gave EKU all the credit in the world for coming back, but anyone with half a brain knows the turnover giving EKU their only score of the half was a big turning point.
As far as dynasty, it now lies in B.G. Not making the playoff for several years does not allow you to continue to possess a "dynasty" mentality. You had your time and it's over. It has been our time the past several years and the beat goes on. Have you checked the ranking at all this year?

That's funny coming from a fan of a team we beat. That kinda takes all credibility away. I will say EKU is UNDERrated
