Blackfordpu and myself basically have been updating each other on our seasons in the PlayStation2 or XBOX games. Blackfordpu had an NCAA Football game with XBox and I have an NCAA Basketball game with PlayStation2. I wanted to update on how my remarkable season is going.

The teams I chose for my legacy was Norfolk State. I have won 4 consecutive regular season titles. The last two seasons have been complete sweeps (18 - 0) regular season and winning the conferenct tournament. This year was no exception as I won the MEAC Conference Tournament Championship over Florida A&M 77 - 55.

I ended up as the 4 seed in the Washington region playing the Northern Iowa Panthers, a team I played earlier in the season. The first half was a struggle until I dominated the 2nd half and ranaway with a 92 - 73 victory to get my first ever win in the NCAA Tournament. The next team I played on the Road to the Final Four was 12 seed Old Dominion Monarchs. Their defense was absolutely stiffling early on, until I figured out all I needed to do was pump fake and I will do fine. Ever since I went on a 20 - 6 run to get a huge victory over the Monarchs 94 - 75 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen to play the Tennessee Volunteers for a 2nd time this season. I defeated Tennessee in December in Norfolk. This is another opportunity to prove myself. This time the game will be played in Washington DC. Norfolk State is now (32 - 1) on the season.

Unluckily, I was whitewashed by Tennessee in the Sweet 16. It's been sooooo long ago since I posted here. I have started a new season with my alma mater Western Kentucky University. Found a new way to start a legacy season without it choosing the school. You would pick the "switch conferences instead of going forward", if you want to, that's fine. That also means that I had to start the legacy all over again. I am into the NCAA Tournament. To shorten the story I went (30 - 1) on the regular season with wins over USC, Hawaii, Georgia, and Virginia. With my only loss to Louisiana-Lafayette 95 - 103. Tournament time came around I exacted my revenge in the semi-final round by beating them 102 - 77 and went on to win the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and the automatic bid by beating Arkansas-Little Rock. I also did something during the season that I have never done, I was ranked about half-way through the Sun Belt schedule. Started at #22 and progressively got higher until stalling out at #9 in the media poll and #17 in the coaches poll. My RPI was at its highest ever at 8. To my amazing surprise I received a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament at practically my backyard of Nashville, TN. I had the honor of playing the Patriot League champion American University. Defeated the Eagles by 15 and now WKU (31 - 1) am in the 2nd round game against the Wisconsin Badgers (20 - 11).

My virtual team makes the Sweet 16 with a dominating 84 - 61 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers. Rebounding was the story of the day as I had a huge rebounding margin of 44 - 21 +23, AMAZING!!!! Next up for the Hilltoppers is another Big Ten team when going to Austin are the Michigan State Spartans. Western Kentucky is ranked #9 and Michigan State #10 in the polls so this should be a very good game. Western Kentucky is 32 - 1 on the season. Michigan State comes in at 24 - 6. Unfortunately, my season comes to an end by the hands of the National Champion Michigan State Spartans 92 - 101. I came away with a lot of positives in the game. Michigan State turned the ball over 22 times. I got 20 steals in the game, that is a new record. I knew that Michigan State was a much different team than Wisconsin in the previous round. The Spartans lead by as much as 16 pts in the 2nd half. Western Kentucky has the heart of a lion as they started chipping away at the lead and got it to 4 pts twice in the 2nd half but never seemed to get over the hump. The biggest difference in the game are 3-pts (7/17) MSU (1/12) WKU and free throws (38/48) MSU and (26/26) WKU. Capitalized on points off turnovers and 2nd chance points with 9 off rebs and getting 13 pts. WKU finishes the season at 32 - 2. What a great 1st season for the Toppers!!!!! Players of the game:

Highlights from recruiting season
Signed Kentucky's Mr. Basketball early. Also signed Tennessee's Mr. Basketball and a 4-star recruit from Murfreesboro, TN during the late signing period. Overall, I had the 15th best recruiting class. The best ever!!!! Tennessee Mr. Basketball, Michael Irvin will be the starting SF for Western Kentucky this season, so he can make an immediate impact on the team as he has the potential to be Freshman of the Year in the Sun Belt. Irvin is also an High School All-American. Michael Irvin was a great sign for Western Kentucky!!!!!

The schedule for the 2005 - 2006 season includes Murray State, Georgia, Virginia, Pacific, Eastern Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, and Davidson. Also, a tournament is scheduled in San Francisco, CA. This a great schedule for Western that will ultimately give me wins and a high RPI. The full schedule will be presented later.

Just finished playing the 2nd game of the new season. Offensively, the team is great, but it's the defense that needs a little work. Once the younger player learn everything about defense it will work itself out. Western's 1st home game was a success as they defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 104 - 86. WKU went on a 20 - 5 run midway through the 1st half to get a 47 - 40 lead at the half. WKU outrebounded Georgia 41 - 35, was 23/23 FT, and scored 33 pts off the bench. Depth will be a very important aspect to the team's success in the 2nd season. All 12 guys played in this game. WKU's next game will be on the road at Montana (0 - 1). Players of the game:

A much better defensive game for the Toppers as they go on the road and massacred Montana 85 - 55. WKU (3 - 0) dominated in virtually every phase of the game. WKU shot 51.9% to only 31.4% for Montana, at one point Montana was shooting 22.6% :eek: . WKU outrebounded Montana 40 - 30 and a 26 - 6 scoring run midway through the 2nd half opened the floodgates to drown Montana. Another important stat: WKU's bench outscored Montana's 51 - 8. Next up for the Toppers are the University of Pacific Tigers (1 - 1). Players of the game:

Game 4 is in the books and another win for WKU (4 - 0) as they defeated Pacific 85 - 71. WKU outrebounded Pacific (1 - 3) 43 - 32. WKU had 9 offensive rebounds in the game and recorded 11 blocks tying a record. The next game for WKU will be against Murray State in Bowling Green. Players of the game:

The game between Murray State and Western Kentucky can be classified as Dr. Jekyll meet Mr. Hyde, especially for Murray State. In the 1st Murray State dominated statistically by going 17/18 FT, outrebounded WKU 19 - 11 and committed only 3 fouls. After that near perfect 1st half, WKU still lead at the half 49 - 46. WKU only went 6/6 from the FT line. WKU also committed 12 fouls, so a lot of their starters was in foul trouble going into the 2nd half.

Then came the second half where Western dominated from start to finish. Murray could shoot the ball if life depended only shooting 5/29 from the field for a 17.2% success rate :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: !!!! after shooting 58.3% in the 1st half. They couldn't hit free throws either as they went 9/22 from the line 40.9%, that would be good if those were 3-point shots, trying to get a good side to Murray's beatdown, oh well. For the game Murray State shot only 26/40 FT and WKU went 13/13 FT. All of those percentages added up to only 19 points for Murray in the 2nd half. Murray State was outrebounded in the 2nd half 28 - 15!!!! That will never win games. WKU scored 46 points in the 2nd half and that ultimately gave the final score of 95 - 65 WKU with a huge dominating victory. Murray State was 19/53 and WKU was 39/77!!!! WKU also committed 21 fouls for the game, that's a record. Recorded 11 blks and 14 steals WKU's bench outscored Murray's 43 - 13. Murray State committed more turnovers than assists (17 assists 18 TO). Next up for the WKU are the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in Richmond. Players of the game:

Game 6 of the new season is in the books and another win for WKU, 90 - 77 over Eastern Kentucky. WKU's defense can be stifling at times. It is very encouraging to see the defense improve with each game. WKU (6 - 0) had 11 steals and 6 blocks in their victory. Rebounds was dead even at 41 apiece. Next up for the Toppers is at Davidson. A huge win for Western Kentucky as they defeated WAC member Louisiana Tech. WKU went on a 28 - 10 run early in the game. Louisiana Tech countered back with a 15 - 2 run to cut the deficit to 5 with about 3 minutes left in the 1st. WKU was able to maintain that slim lead into halftime 42 - 37. The 2nd half begin with a flurry for WKU as they went on a quick 9 - 2 run to extend the lead. Louisiana Tech was able to keep up with WKU throughout the game and it came down to free throws to settle the score. No team is likely to beat WKU on free throws as they are shooting 91.8% from the line this year as they hit 8 crucial free throws in the last 2 minutes of the game to seal the win for the Toppers. As a result, WKU is ranked for the 1st time this year as they start at #20 in the media poll and remained unranked in the coaches poll. The RPI began also. The schedule isn't as strong as I anticipated but the RPI is at 39 currently. It will rise with more wins. The conference RPI is at #13, so a very respectable start. WKU finally gets a long respite between games. They ended that week ranked #20, their first rankng of the season. Since they got a week off for recruiting and rest. WKU went up 3 spots despite not playing a single game in about 11 days. They enter this game ranked #17 in the media poll and #25 in the coaches. This is my first ranking in the coaches poll this season. That will give them time to practice and travel to San Francisco as they play Yale. If they win that game, they will play the winner of the Central Connecticut State/Santa Clara game. Players of the game:

WKU (9 - 0) gets a victory over the Yale Bulldogs 78 - 46. Yale was outclassed in every aspect of the game and it was never close except from the tip. WKU outrebound Yale 38 - 25. Yale only attempted 7 free throws and making only 4. WKU scored half of their points from the bench. Next up for the Toppers will be the championship game of the tournament against Central Connecticut State who defeated Santa Clara 69 - 68. The RPI is not that impressive at 44. Players of the game:

Western Kentucky (10 - 0) defeated the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils (5 - 6) 75 - 50 to win the tournament. Defense was the name of the game for WKU. Even though they didn't get a lot of steals (4), but they were having a block party with 10 in the game. WKU went 35/35 from the line and CCSU only went 7/9. Western Kentucky's bench barely outscored CCSU's bench 26 - 19. There was a definite rebounding advantage as the Toppers had 41 - 25 edge. The RPI dropped slightly to 45. The next game for WKU will be a home game against #24 Virginia Cavaliers (8 - 2). If this game is anything like last year's game in Charlottesville it will be a game to remember. With WKU's victory, the Toppers rise to #13 in the media poll and #20 in the coaches poll. Players of the game:

Western Kentucky dominated the game from tip to finish in Bowling Green as the fans got a treat of monumental proportions. Virginia had some flashes of goodness but not nearly enough to defeat the Toppers. WKU gets an impressive 90 - 61 victory over the former #24 Virginia Cavaliers. With a combination of outstanding shooting and great defense proved to be too much for Virginia. WKU outrebounded Virginia 40 - 30, hit 20/20 FT to only 6/11 UVA, WKU shot 54% from the field to Virginia's 38.6%. WKU (12 - 0) played its first conference game of the season and it was a victory over Arkansas-Little Rock 69 - 53. This marks their 14th win out of 15 Sun Belt games. It was an unusually low scoring affair. This is their lowest scoring output of the season but the defense was magnificent, leading the way with 9 blocks for WKU to earn a victory. Western Kentucky (13 - 0) gets another victory this time over the Arkansas State Indians (2 - 11) 85 - 61. For the first 15 minutes of the game it was a very competitive game and for a brief moment Arkansas State took a 3 point lead. Then WKU went on a late surge to take a 10 point lead into the half (44 - 34). WKU outrebounded Arkansas State 38 - 25, got 9 steals, 7 blocks and went 21/21 FT for the game, compared to Arkansas State's 7/11 FT. Western Kentucky is currently ranked 7th in the media poll and #13 in the coaches poll. The RPI went up slightly, despite the competition's record, to 19. WKU (15 - 0) gets a much needed victory over the South Alabama Jaguars (8 - 6) 86 - 68. South Alabama started out hot and lead by as much as 6 in the first half. Towards the end of the half WKU went on a 17 - 6 run to grab the lead. In the 2nd half WKU was able to maintain and then extended the lead. WKU went 28/28 from the line while South Alabama was only 7/10. The RPI remained the same at 18. An interesting stat line, in the game, no one for WKU had over 6 rebounds. I was still seething over that lone conference loss last season to UL-Lafayette (4 - 12). I took my frustrations out on them and no mercy in a 85 - 63 laugher. In the 1st half UL-Lafayette committed 11 turnover to WKU's ZERO. That's right, no turnovers in the 1st half, I was justifiably angry! :mad: :mad: Can't you tell I was a bitter person :p . Anyway, WKU (16 - 0) went on a 25 - 6 run in the 1st half to blow it open. UL-Lafayette finished with 17 assists and 17 turnovers :nono: . WKU got 13 steals for the game a new record and 7 blocks. Story line: Playing styles: New Mexico State (9 - 10) is the up and down roadrunner dragster team. Western Kentucky (17 - 0) is the slow, use the clock to get a good shot team. Which one wins out? For about 35 minutes of the game it was a toss up as New Mexico State makes a mini-run to take a lead, then WKU makes a run of its own to take the lead. Back and forth throughout the game. It was so close that one my players played all 40 minutes of the game. A rare feat in real life or a game. Ultimately in the end the biggest difference between the teams was the 3pt shooting in the 2nd half. WKU went 5/9 from long range and NMSU went 1/5. That's how WKU wins the game with a 74 - 64 victory. Everything else is pretty even. NMSU shot 47.2% from the field while WKU shot 43.9%. NMSU outrebounded WKU 31 - 29. WKU had 7 steals and 7 blocks for the game. Difference maker: WKU 6/14 from 3pt for the game and NMSU 1/13 from 3pt for the game. Even the free throws was pretty even. WKU went 18/18 and NMSU went 13/16. The RPI went up another two spots to 14. Western Kentucky's rank went up a spot to #5 in the media poll and #7 in the coaches poll up two from last week. The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (18 - 0) gets another victory on their way to an undefeated season, as they defeated Middle Tennessee (7 - 10) 67 - 51. At the half it was 32 - 16 WKU. MTSU shot only 25% in the 1st half only to finish with a 34.9% shooting, just plain terrible. They were Shaq-like from the line, only 9/16. Western Kentucky (20 - 0) stomps Florida International (5 - 14) by a final of 90 - 62. Florida International was competitive in the 1st half, but that was it. The halftime score was 44 - 32. In the second, WKU went on a 16 - 6 run and blew the game wide open. The only conference games they have left are against, non any particular order, @ North Texas, @ Florida International, Middle Tennessee, Denver, and Arkansas-Little Rock. WKU is now 5 wins away from being undefeated in the regular season. WKU shot a remarkable 55.1% from the field while FIU shot 44.1%. WKU went 3/8 from 3pt FIU was 0/3. Western Kentucky (21 - 0) continues their winning ways as they beat Denver (7 - 15) 76 - 56. WKU have been slow starters lately. Denver lead by as much as 6 points in the first half. WKU starts chipping away at the lead and they eventually takes the lead and then extends it to runaway with the victory. WKU is also shooting better from 3 they have been shooting 35% (7/20) in the last two games for the season they are shooting 28.6% still awful but better than it has been. Western Kentucky (22 - 0) dominated from the start defeating North Texas (12 - 9) 82 - 49. There were 3 great runs that defined the teams. In the 1st half, North Texas went on a 10 - 2 to shrink a lead to 6 in the 1st half. The play of the game is the 3 pointer to end the 1st half by Kirk Mendez to give WKU a 46 - 32 halftime lead. WKU also went on a 17 - 6 run that ended the 1st half and went into the 2nd half. The other huge run was also made by WKU to blow it open with a 27 - 5 run that ended any chance for North Texas to be competitive. WKU shot 47.2% FG to North Texas' 31.7%. WKU was perfection for the line 27/27 while North Texas was only 7/11. WKU outrebounded North Texas 43 - 29 and also had 8 blocks in the game. The RPI zoomed to 11. The Toppers had the best 3-point shooting day of the season (6/12 3pt), while MTSU was 1/11 3pt. WKU was 20/20 from the line as MTSU only attempted 6 and making 4. WKU outrebounded MTSU 40 - 26 including 9 OFF rebounds and WKU scored 37 points from the bench. As mentioned earler, WKU scored the first 18 points of the 2nd half to blow the game open as MTSU did not register its first field goal until 9:18 left in the half. Let's celebrate baby!!! WKU (25 - 0) did the unthinkable, going undefeated by slipping by Florida International (6 - 18) in their final game 65 - 54 in a grueling defensive game. Two players gets double-doubles for WKU and one for Florida International. Rebounding was the game in the 1st half as WKU grabbed 25 with 7 on the offensive variety. Florida International only shot 5/30 in the 1st half (16.7%). WKU did not fare much better at 37.9% in the 1st half. The offense was better for Florida International in the 2nd half as they cut the lead to 8 with 2 minutes left in the game. That was way too close for comfort. Eventually, time ran out on Florida International as they were making their comeback. WKU was 24/24 from the line and FIU was 20/26. WKU finished with 11 offensive rebounds tying for the highest output of the season. The RPI went up to 9 with the victory. To get to the quarterfinals Arkansas State defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 67 - 59. The play of the year happened in this game. It was with about 15 seconds left in the game. The game was over and WKU had possession and was letting the time go like I always do. Arkansas State had the bright idea of stealing the ball from me. WKU outrebounded APSU 40 - 24 and went 22/23 from the line, while APSU went 14/17. Western Kentucky (30 - 0) will go to its 2nd Sweet 16 (4th overall, did it twice with Norfolk State), as they defeated the Washington Huskies (19 - 11) 91 - 78. Washington is a very flashy team with alley-oop dunks and such. However, I played solid defense and fundamental basketball as WKU blocked a record 12 shots and recorded 10 steals in this hard fought victory. WKU had a early lead in the 1st half until Washington came out playing an up-tempo style of offense and threw me for a loop. Washington had the lead twice in the game. Washington had the lead for about 3 minutes in the 2nd half the longest stretch that WKU has been behind all season. Western Kentucky shot the 3 ball very well as they went 6/18 compared to Washington's 1/11. That turned out to be the difference as Sockwell hit 5 of them. Washington had more rebounds and free throws but WKU found a way to win the game. Next up is the 12 seed Kansas Jayhawks (18 - 12) in Minneapolis, MN. Players of the game:

Western Kentucky (31 - 0) gets a gunslinger victory over the Kansas Jayhawks (18 - 13) 111 - 107. WKU started very strong and went out to a 31 - 14 lead with about 10 minutes to go in the half. Kansas outscored WKU 26 - 16 the rest of the way cut the deficit to 7 at 47 - 40. In the 2nd half, both WKU and Kansas had offensive explosions. WKU's defense down the stretch was magnificent. With 41 seconds left in the game, WKU just scored to get a 104 - 101 lead, then Stefan Stone, as always, is a clutch defense player, steals the ball away and dunked it to extend the lead to 5 and that sealed Kansas' fate. Then it became a free throw shooting contest, that NO one will win against WKU. For the season, they are shooting at 96.6 percent including tonights 29/29 effort. Kansas had more opportunities at the line and got 29/42. WKU outrebounded Kansas 41 - 39, had 13 blocks establishing a new record and 8 steals for the game. WKU was shooting lights out from 3pt range (6/12 3pt), Kansas wasn't bad themselves (6/16 3pt). In the last several games they are shooting 40/95 from 3pt = 42.1%. For the season, WKU is only shooting 31.6%. A welcomed improvement for WKU. Next up is a game against Charlotte (27 - 6) in the Elite Eight. The other 3 games are: in the Washington regional Creighton vs. Iowa, the Atlanta regional is Syracuse vs. Cincinnati, and in the Sacramento Regional it is Duke vs. Indiana. Western Kentucky (32 - 1) suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Syracuse Orange (26 - 12) by a score of 82 - 85. Syracuse went on a 21 - 6 run in the 2nd half to seal the win. WKU had a chance to tie the score with 21 seconds left in the game but missed. For the game WKU shot 8/20 from 3pt, 24/24 FT, was outrebounded 48 - 53, and had 33 points off the bench. Sorry I have not been posting hillhound.

I have a legacy started with Charleston Southern. My first season I didnt even make it to the tournament. I lost in the first round of the Big South tournament.

This season I am 16-0 in conference play and 25-3 so far in my total schedule. I advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament (I am a 12 seed) by BLOWING OUT :eek: Boston College, a 4 seed, 74-50. My team has been lead by freshman PF Ace Osimuni. He is averaging around 20 points a game, most of them in the paint. I now move on to face Xavier in the second round.

I will post my season schedule when I get the chance to post from home.

I will keep you posted on my progress in the tournament. :)

It seems like that you are liking the game very well. This is your 2nd year, this is when the offers will start coming in for you. Don't worry if your alma mater does not come up for you. You always have the choice of staying with Charleston Southern. I also found something new with the game, when you choose to customize your schedule in the beginning of the legacy. The game will automatically generate a brand new schedule the next season. You can create your own schedule, however, it takes a lot of work.

You convinced me to get the game. I started legacy with Tx Southern. They're from Houston and I wasn't going to come close to touching Nicholls State from the SLC! Season is progressing. I've gotten better as it has gone along, then again, it's SWAC teams. I got blown out by some teams earlier in the season (Troy St and Nebraska included) but did knock off Nebraska. Fell to Rice by two points. Only SWAC loss thus far is to Grambling, who is tied with me for first on the season in the SWAC after 10 games.

Since I discovered the automatic computer generated schedule, it has made it easier for me to scout the team. I have also cleaned house and started over and chosen Grambling has my legacy team. I am on Year 2 and so far I am (9 - 2) and (2 - 0) in the SWAC. Included on the schedule was Duke and Alabama, two Top 10 teams. Those are also the two teams that I lost to also. I lost to Duke 68 - 99 and to Alabama 85 - 104, respectively. I did upset Georgia in Athens 85 - 70 and beat Saint Louis in a tournament. Future updates will come.

Completed by first season. Won the SWAC regular season title. Won the tournament title. Fell to 22-9 record after bowing to #4 seed Washington in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Didn't get hurt in terms of talent that graduated.

Came back home and knocked off New Mexico by a good margin in my second game on the day. Host Nebraska before playing against #3 Maryland in a tournament at the MCI Center.

Played my latest game against Texas Southern. Dominated the Tigers from about the 14 minute mark in the 1st half on. Grambling went on an impressive 35 - 3 run to blow the game wide open in the 1st half and it was over from there as they defeat the 2nd place team in the SWAC 96 - 70! Normally I wouldn't talk about individual game as much as I used to, but this was too good not to talk about it!

In my season, Grambling achieved a historic first. Grambling is ranked 23 in the media poll. Grambling becomes the 1st SWAC team to ever be ranked in my virtual dynasty. So far their record is 18 - 2 and 12 - 0 in the SWAC.

Sounds good. I am 13-3 in my 2nd season at the helm of Texas Southern. We're breezing by the SWAC schools. Knocked off St. Marys and UC-Irvine to win my first tournament.

Out of conference games remain against George Washington and Sam Houston State. Perhaps I'll be ranked when I get those games out of the way.

Tough thing about the SWAC is the low RPI. I'm in the high 70s. I would love to be ranked. I figure once I finish this season I'll have some nice mid-major job offers to look at.

I crushed the Texas Southern Tigers 81 - 55 but that was not enough to maintain my ranking. I am still on the Bubble Watch in the event of an upset in SWAC tournament. I will get the #1 seed if Mississippi Valley State loses their next game and I defeat Prairie View. I have 3 more games left until the SWAC tournament including the Prairie View game.

My resume isn't very strong with wins over Georgia, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Radford, Belmont, Columbia, and Saint Louis. My RPI went up substantially to 64. I wish I could have won over either Duke or Alabama b/c both teams are ranked in the Top 10. I only lost by 15 to #9 Alabama and was blown out by #3 Duke at Duke there was no hope their. Georgia is in last place in the SEC not good at all. The rest of the OOC schedule are on the lower half of the conference standings.

I clinched the SWAC regular-season title and have one more game left on the regular season before heading into the SWAC tournament. I fell in SWAC play to Alabama A&M. They had a player go off and score 48 points on me, last year's SWAC POTY, who I had shutdown in our earlier matchup.

Won the SWAC tournament over Mississippi Valley State. Was a #12 seed in the Indy region. Knocked off #5 Michigan by a handful and then was trounced by #4 NC State. Finished 25-7 in year two compared to 20-9 in year one.

Offered jobs at Fordham, New Orleans, Denver, Arkansas-Little Rock, Oral Roberts, Northeastern, Jacksonville, Eastern Kentucky, Charl. Southern, Morgan State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Top jobs were Oregon St and East Carolina, but I was not even a candidate. No reason leaving Tx Southern just yet.

Solid recruiting class. Better than NC State, Michigan St, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio St and Arizona St among others..

Season #3 schedule includes road trips to Missouri, Minnesota (in a tournament) and St. Joe's. Home games include Creighton, Miami (FL) and UTEP.

Just completed regular season finished 22 - 4 with conference losses to Mississippi Valley and Alabama A&M. Will play Alabama State in the 1st round. I am still on the Bubble Watch at #11 not very high but decent enough. The leading scorer for Grambling is average 23.1 pts/game and that is good enough for #1 in the NCAA. Hopefully, in the unlikely event that I lose in the SWAC tournament they will give an at-large bid to Grambling b/c of him.

I wouldn't want to go to Eastern Kentucky either ;) .

I have done pretty well in my first season with the Bearkats. I am 15-2 with my only losses to top 15 teams. I even beat #4 Alabama.

I am undefeated in conference play.

My SF #23 is having a GREAT season. He is averaging 20.4 points per game and that is playing 10 minute halves.

UC Davis is included in the game but not Northern Colorado. The only Independents are Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Savannah State, UC Davis, and IUPU-Fort Wayne.

Since I finally found out how to let the computer set up the schedule, I had to redo it all over again. This time I chose Navy. I absolutely had to clean house with this team. If awful was in the dictionary, Navy would be near the top, or at the top of the list. For year 1, I tried to play the season, but this team cannot make shots at all, especially from underneath the basket. The talent level was horrendous. I let the computer play the 1st year, it was much better than I first thought they went 10 - 16 and lost to archrival Army in the 1st round of the Patriot League tournament. Navy finished 5th in the conference with a 6 - 8 record. I had a solid recruiting class and the team is 200% better than last year. I am currently 2 - 1 so far with wins over Northeastern and Yale. The loss was to Maryland College. Maryland College's uniforms are absolutely ghastly. The shirt and shorts of the uniforms are flaming with red, orange, yellow intermixing it can be very distracting. The month of December will be a difficult month for Navy as they go on the road to Minnesota, #6 Villanova, GW, and Penn. I am also at Duquesne in January. Home schedule includes Columbia, Binghamton, Maryland College and Dartmouth are just a few of the teams. I will update you on the latest developments.

My losing streak has just ended as I upset #4 Villanova 51 - 48!! The most critical stat was blocks. Navy blocked 6 shots to Villanova's 0. That allowed my fast break to work better. I was behind by as much as 9 pts in the 1st half and came roaring back in the start of the 2nd half.

Just so you guys know, after finishing two seasons of college hoops 2k5, I've gone back to MLB 2K5. I'm already in early August on my schedule (got the game in mid-March when it came out). Pitched my first no-no this morning. Pete Munro of the Astros. Blanked the Giants 1-0.

I guess you can call this a streaky team after winning their first 2, then losing their next 4, and now they are currently on a 4 game winning streak. Navy is at 6 - 4 are back to their winning ways. Their final tough non-conference game of the year as they go to Duquesne, they are rated 7 pts ahead of me. That upset of Villanova they were 15 pts ahead so I should be able to win the game also.

I won the Southland conference championship and am ready for the NCAA championship to begain. I will post some stats when I get home tonight.

The winning continues as I won my 10th straight when beating the hapless Niagara (2 - 14) 43 - 35. Niagara's PF scored 26 pts and had 6 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to get through a balanced Navy (12 - 4) attack. My best rated player finally broke through the barrier with a 12 pt 4 reb and 3 ast effort. One interesting development, my alma mater is ranked 24th, last week they were at 19. This is the earliest that Western Kentucky has ever been ranked.

I move on to the second round of the tournament after defeating Oregon 68-61 in a close game. They were leading 32-30 at halftime and even built a 12 point lead early in the second half but I fought back and came away with the win.

I lost my first Patriot League game at Lehigh on a last second 3 pointer. Came back to beat a tough Holy Cross team. Revenge on Lehigh in Patriot League tournament.....

Played Holy Cross yet again this time in Navy. Total domination for Navy. Navy scored the first 14 points of the game and lead at the half 20 - 5. Yes you saw it 5 points! :eek: :eek: :eek: Holy Cross was a much better team in the 2nd half but they were still outscored 20 - 18 as the final score was 40 - 23. Navy has clinched at least a home playoff game as I have 3 more games until the Patriot League tournament. I am currently 1st in the standings at 10 - 1 only 1 game ahead of Lehigh at 9 - 2. Holy Cross is in 3rd right now. I have games @ Army, and then two home games against Bucknell and Colgate for the final home games of the season. I am currently 19 - 5 right now, a RPI of 32, and going for Navy's 1st 20-win season!

Navy wins the Patriot League regular season championship. Lehigh finishes 2nd followed by Holy Cross and Colgate rounding out the home teams. Now it is on to the conference tournament. Update you on the details.

Despite losing to Lafayette in the 1st round of the conference tournament I made the NCAA Tournament as an at-large berth. I am an 11th seed playing Cincinnati in the 1st round in the Sacramento Region. Lehigh wins the Patriot tournament title. Several smaller leagues had at-large bids besides the Patriot League with 2 bids. The Sun Belt was the best story of them all. They the 9th best RPI and received 3 bids they could have had 4 if Western Kentucky wouldn't have lost in the quarters. The Big West had 2 bids and the Atlantic Sun had 2 bids as well.

I lost to Cincinnati by 4 points in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament. Navy finished the year (22 - 7). Next season Navy has a pretty good schedule as they play Temple, Oklahoma State, Miami (OH), and NC State just to name a few. I'll post the complete virtual schedule. I won coach of the year and I had 4 starters make 1st team All-Patriot and the other starter made 2nd team All-Patriot. I was also offered a 5-year extension with Navy. I was offered jobs at Princeton, Tulsa, San Jose State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Denver, New Mexico State, Boise State, and even patriot member Lafayette. I decided to stay at Navy for another season.

So far in the new season I am (6 - 0). Three out of the next 4 games will be teams ranked in the Top 25. Navy is on the road at #8 North Carolina State (8 - 0), then the following game plays a home game against #22 Temple (6 - 1). Navy will get a brief break from the Top 25 and goes to Towson (3 - 6) and finally continuing their road trip will be against #5 Oklahoma State (7 - 1) in Stillwater. A very crucial stretch for Navy this will determine whether the season will a great OOC season or a ho-hum OOC since the first 6 games wasn't that challenging. The biggest challenges came from Mount St. Mary's and Drexel.

I am 3/4 of the way through the tough stretch and as expected I lost to NC State 45 - 49, lost to Temple 40 - 46, defeated Towson 39 - 26, the last game is the toughest of all against Oklahoma State and according to the ratings they have a 96 and Navy is only at 81, very scary I expect to be blownout in the game, if not, then it's a moral victory.

Coming into this game I said that Navy did not have a snowballs chance to win this game. How about this stat line:

Gordon Mombollet SF had a perfect game went (7/7 FG) and (3/3 FT) to earn 17 pts and to lead all scorers, Cornell Garcia C scored 16 pts 2 rebs 1 ast and went 6/7 FG, and Whitney Bobik PG 12 pts 3 stl 2 ast 1 reb (4/7 3pt). They scored 45 of the 51 pts scored by Navy in a upset victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys 51 - 42. I lead by as much as 13 at one pt during the 1st half then they went on a 16 - 6 run to cut the deficit to 3 at the half. As a team Navy shot 70.4% from the field, even the worst team in America that shoots that percentage will win this game.

I have one more non-conference (Penn) until the full fledge Patriot League part of the schedule starts

Bearkats are on a role. Still in the NCAA tournament by first knocking off #9 seed Oregon 68-61. Then went on to upset #1 seed Texas by a score of 57-49. It was a great game. Down by as much as 12 in the second half, we fought back to win the game.

In the Sweet 16 the kats went on to shock #4 seeded St. Joes 60-52. Talk about a see saw of a game. Going into the half I was up by 21 points 37-16. They came back and even led by 1 in the 3rd. Finally #23 came back in the game to seal the game.

On to face #10 Michigan State in the Elite 8. GO BEARKATS!! :)

Ok, below are the stats for the Elite 8, Final Four and Championship games. All of the games were very hard fought. The championship game was in doubt until the final minute. Once they started fouling me it was all over.

SHSU had an unbelievable season and can hopefully carry the momentum into next season. We also signed a 5 star recruit, Beatty, at the Center position. This is great because that was a big problem last season.

Kicked off my third season and I'm off to a nice start. Opened up at UT-Arlington with a win. Came back home where I swept UTEP after rallying from seven down with three minutes left and then exacted a blowout win on Penn State. Hit the road for #5 Missouri where I pulled out a win. They have since plummeted to #20 despite an 8-2 record.

Hit the tournament circuit for a tourney in Seattle. Knocked off Minnesota in round one, then played against another upset team Montana State and beat them. Followed that up with an unusual spanking of Utah to win the tournament.

Non-conference home games against Houston (6-1) and Creighton (3-5) before hitting the SWAC schedule before stepping out of conference for a road trip to St. Joe's (3-4) and Miami of Florida (6-3). I have an RPI of 3 right now, which I'm sure will go tumbling. Still not ranked and have a conference RPI of 20, which is great for the SWAC.

The problem is, EIGHT juniors. I only have one 'ship available this season during recruiting and next season is going to be a pain. Perhaps I'll hop ship. 52-16 in three seasons thus far. Farthest I went was second round of the NCAA tournament in my second season. Time to get rolling!
