SmallCollegeFBFan, where do you think Drago will end up?
Not drafted -- although on the NFL Draft Show on ESPN he was listed as the #2 or #3 prospect that could or should be the next to be drafted for about the last three rounds...
Not surprising as most teams consider it a waste to draft a punter. Maybe a better situation for him considering now he will be able to choose...

Very cool to see both the Fordham punter and Wagner kicker getting a shot with the Ravens! Good luck to both of them.
I saw Dato punt last year at Fordham in the Dayton game, and I thought tight then and there that he would get an NFL shot. He kicks a nice high spiral for distance. Piotr is a huge kid with a big leg. I think both have a great shot, if not with the Ravens, then with another NFL team.

First, it was Tuff Harris last year. Then they drafted Lex Hilliard this year, and now they're giving Dan Carpenter a shot!!!

edit: (from the Missoulian) Hilliard will be part of a UM reunion in Miami of sorts, though the Dolphins released former Griz cornerback Tuff Harris on Thursday. Dan Carpenter, the Football Championship Subdivision career scoring leader, has a two-year offer sheet from the Dolphins as well.

I'd like to see Watson get picked up but he is a little too small for the NFL. And I still don't understand the infatuation people have with Ricky Wilson. The guy had 44 total tackles, only 1 interception and only 3 pass break-ups. MSU's Michael Beach had 35 total tackles 5 interceptions for 164 yards (2 for TDs) and 7 pass breakups. Yet Wilson gets first team all-BSC over Beach. xnonox Beach should be picked up over Wilson, IMO.

• Mike Potts, QB, William & Mary -- Hails from same school as Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, and the 6-4, 220-pounder threw for 2,730 yards and 20 touchdowns during his career.
• Julian Rauch, K, Appalachian State -- His late field goal helped Appalachian State stun Michigan last season, and almost 20 percent of his kickoffs went for touchbacks during his career.
• Micah Rucker, WR, Eastern Illinois -- He had 55 catches for 777 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior; the 6-6, 221-pounder played two seasons at Minnesota before transferring.

As others have said, I'm SHOCKED that Kevin Richardson has not been picked up. Something's got to be going on. If I had to guess, he might be talking to some CFL teams to see what the market's going to be like. If he can get a sure fire deal in the CFL, there's no point in dealing with camp and all that stuff.

The Redskins have a old line that has become injury prone.
They only allotted one draft pick for the OL this year so it is a good place for an UDFA to make a team, maybe get some quality playing time replacing an injured starter, and prove himself before next year's draft.

I don't think K rich has been scouted which is why he hasn't been picked up. His avg. yard per carry last season was higher than Cuff's and he had almost one hundred less carries. Not saying Richardson is better but if Cuff gets a shot I don't believe anyone who picked up Richardson would be disappointed.

A comparison might be, how many yards, receptions, etc were thrown against both players? It could be possible that Wilson has lower stats because teams avoided throwing in his direction.

Lezotte isn't going anywhere because he's injured and couldn't try out for anyone. It's possible that he could heal and get a try out still, but few injured undrafted free agents get picked up (the RB out of Kentucky did, but that's an oddity).
As for Richardson and Cuff, his per carry was 5.1 versus Cuff's 4.9 - not exactly that different, especially considering Cuff got a lot of his 35 TD's from real close to the goalline. Cuff was a more dangerous threat catching the ball out of the backfield, and don't underestimate the importance of the offensive system - Richardson was a back in an option-type offense with a top notch running QB while Cuff played in a more pro-like spread offense. Cuff had plenty of opportunity to show he could pass block, which is kinda important at the next level.

I think the biggest down fall for Richardson is that he just hasn't gotten to touch the ball as much this year. Armanti running it all the time really ate into K-Rich's total yards, carries and TDs, so his his numbers just weren't as impressive as with Richie and last year when AE was just getting settled in.

Did you see the difference in how many carries each player had? Also He is most definently not a bigger threat out of the backfield. The game against Delaware showed that, and K rich having 122 yards recieving in the game against NAU shows that and having above 500 yards recieving in two seasons of his career.
So being a bigger recieving threat is irrelevent. They both were very close in career touchdowns and K rich had set the record a year before cuff with 30 TD's. This past season I read in an article he played with bruised ribs which doesn't help.

Definitely aided by all the scouting attention JJ received, plus I'm sure it didn't hurt that Harbaugh was their coach as well as having a defensive coordinator that was a coordinator in the NFL for like 18 years. Haven't heard anything about Hutch yet. I think the four guys that will be in camp this summer were the only ones I thought might have a shot, so I would be surprised if there are more guys that sign FA contracts. A comparison might be, how many yards, receptions, etc were thrown against both players? It could be possible that Wilson has lower stats because teams avoided throwing in his direction.
So if no one throws at him that means he deserves first team? Maybe if he had perfect cover skills, but I'm not sure I believe that. I just don't see the logic there.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers appear to have room for former Division III college standout Justin Beaver.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said at the end of the team's three-day rookie orientation camp that the Wisconsin-Whitewater running back showed enough to be considered for a roster spot.
McCarthy says the 5-foot-7 Beaver was impressive.

I'm just not understanding why he doesn't at least get a tryout with a team. He only held the Div I record for touchdowns in a season (until Cuff broke it this year) and won 3 National Championships. xchinscratchx

Nothing against Richardson, he's a great back, but how much of his success has come from the system that App runs and the offensive line that he has had to run behind? I wouldn't hesitate to say that Devon Moore will rival some of K-Rich's single-season numbers this coming year. Moore's 4.8 yards per carry was only .4 yards behind Richardson's 5.2. This is not to say that I don't think NFL teams should give KR a look, just saying that he had a heck of a system and a coach that knows how to get the most from his players. Best of luck to Kevin in the future and here's hoping he makes his way on to an NFL roster.

How many times did you witness 2 - 3 guys hanging off of KR and you were SURE that he was going down... only to see him put it into another gear and take off for 30 more yards? His legs never stopped moving. That's no system.

by that argument just think what he could do with an all-pro O-line opening up holes and blocking for him.

Yea, I agree. AE is your average, run of the mill QB too. Thank God for the system and the coach. xrolleyesx

Pretty sure Julian will be the kicker and Jeff Reed the place kicker.
They could throw julian in at line backer possibly considering how instead of grabbing the tee he runs up field like everyone else to tackle the ball carrier.
