The Red Sox offense thus far has been spectacular.

As a team the Sox are hitting .303, tops in baseball. They have scored 119 runs third best just seven runs fewer then Arizona.

Of the current regulars in the lineup seven of the nine are batting over .300

Pedroia .364
Youkilis .354
Ramriez .342
Casey .340
Lugo .324 xeekx xeekx
Ellsbury .308
Drew .302

Last night Ellsbury and Pedroia combined to go 7-10 with 3 doubles and 2 homers. Both homers were hit by Ellsbury who has three in 52 ABs this season and six in 168 career atbats.

This off season when a writer said Ellsbury has 20 HR power many laughed at him, but it certainly looks like he may. If you figure as a leadoff hitter he will get around 600 ABs a season those 6 in 168 ABs translate into a 20 HR potential.

The Sox also have ab OBP of .377 tops in baseball. Thats led by Ellsburys .456.

If the pitching staff can get its consistency issues worked out, Arizona and Boston can book their World Series tickets now.

Given it's still April, that's probably a sure sign that neither one will actually make it :p

And the D-Backs have done all that with only three regulars hitting above .300, and with Snyder hitting .196, Hudson @ .241, Young @ .227.

Dan Haren 3-0 1.80
Micah Owings 4-0 2.42
Brandon Webb 5-0 2.31
Johnson 0-2 3.38

That's this team's strength. See ya in October, Travis! xthumbsupx

They were chasing history and regardless of the final game, each week of the season they were chasing history and some of it they got.

I still want them to fire Danny Ainge!
