Astros lead Braves 5-3 in 7th. Will this be another year of playoff futility for the most successful franchise in baseball?

I'm a huge whitesox fan right now. I want them to do well just to throw it in the cub's face. There's more than 1 team in that town and no reason it shouldn't get behind the southsiders. Plus, I hate boston and would like nothing more than to see them get :spank:

Braves...PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE win for once...you don't know how frustrating it is to get in the playoffs EVERY year, and then do nothing. God, 1995 was such a great year. The Braves should've won in '96, too, but then choked big time after blowing up the Yankees in the first two games in NYC. Then they lost four straight. But at least back then, and '99, we got to the World Series. Now we can't even get by the NLDS. What the hell?

I'm guessing they may have a clue on how that feels. :D :D ;)

My comment was from a Braves fan's perspective...and my wording made it sound weird. I cried after the 1996 series for God's sake...I'm slightly attached to them.

They should have more fans like you, blur. They were 10,000 under capacity yesterday.

Yankees as good as beat themselves last night. 3 errors, 2 of which led to runs, and the Angels even the series at 1-1 with a 5-3 win. Wang pitched very well, and the Yankees failed to take advantage of opportunites to score runs. Day off for travel, and then it's Game 3 in the Stadium Friday night.

US Cellular Field had 40,799 and that is JAM PACKED, so Atlanta did good in comparison to the W Sox!! :) In the biggest surprise of the night, the Chicago Blackhawks managed to get 16,300 for the opener!!! And NIU went over 20,000, lots to do in and around Chicago last night!!!

The 4:05 game time probably didn't help...but it's always like this in Atlanta. Braves fans have gotten so used to them winning and getting in the playoffs that it's not as big a deal as it used to be. They were selling out the last few regular season home games, but those were at night. I'm going to hope that tonight's game at 8:05 will sellout or come close. But again, it's been like this for the last few years.

Sorry to disappoint you, Matt, but the Hawks will never win another cup under Wirtz ownership. But you knew that! :(
