I thought Contreras was going to revert back to his Yankee form (wild) in that last inning. I'm glad he made it out!

I saw the end of the StL-SD game on GameTracker, and it sounds like a pretty wild ending. The Padres scored a few runs off Isringhausen, but Ramon Hernandez struck out with the bases loaded to end the game. It also said Carpenter left the game with a hand/wrist injury. Trouble for the Cards?
And Juan Uribe just homered for the ChiSox in the 4th, chasing Clement. 8-2 Chicago.

Hernandez swung at 3 of the worst pitches I have seen thrown to end the game. He looked like a deer in the headlights during his at-bat.

White Sox seem to be the real deal. They are freaking beating the crap out of Boston.

In other baseball news,
Yankees take down the Angels in Game 1. Robinson Cano unloads the bases with a 3-run double, and the Yankees hang on for a 4-2 win. Mussina gets the win, and Rivera the save.
1-0 Yankees
Game 2 is tomorrow night at 10 pm EST, Chien Ming Wang (NYY) vs. John Lackey (LAA)

I think everyone was in shock at how well Mussina threw and how bad Colon looked in that first inning...Good game Yanks definately!!!

Nice win for the ChiSox. Looking forward to a Chicago/Houston World Series. Hopefully.

Would be a fascinating series, but it would likely get record low TV ratings.

Yep, most likely it would.
I like a Yanks/Red Sox matchup, just for the drama. And I'm sure so would TV.

They used the bullpen extremely well too. Using Leiter for the lefties and then bring in Sturtze after that. Then onto Gordon and Rivera for the 8th and 9th. Its almost becoming a 6 inning game for the yanks! I just hope it stays this way!

The problem is that the Left and Right Coasts wouldn't tune in, although they'd miss some great baseball. :p
