I thought it might be tonight.
I do think he will win one this year....and it just might be Talladega, but who knows.

So mad that Martin didn't go for the win. He had nothing to lose and you could tell he was upset with the decision to pit. Him winning would have been a bigger story than a Jr. W and for everyone involved a more popular victory.

Not sure I follow. Explain how you think a Mark Martin win would be more popular than a Dale Jr win. I mean we are talking about the most popular driver in NASCAR...by a long shot. I mean, sure it's been longer since Martin has won and he is running a limited schedule. But I don't see any of that overtaking the sheer numbers of Jr's fans. Especially since Martin has "retired" a couple of times already.....that diminishes, a little, the nostalgia factor for him.

It certaintly would have been a more popular victory both in garage and in the general fan population. Only the Jr fans would have been happy to see him win. Had Martin won everyones fans would have been happy to see him win. I'm pretty sure if you would have asked Jr fans if he can't win who would you have liked to see win everyone would say Mark. He's the last capable driver left from the greatest generation in Nascar. It would have been an exteremly popular W.

Ryan Earnhardt is my name. 2nd cousin, so nascar racing has been a part of my life since birth......with that said, if 88 didnt win, i would have LOVED to see mark martin bring home a trophy. he has done so many positive things for the sport from a sportsmanship and tradition standpoint that anyone who wouldnt want to see him win.....is either overly biased or uninformed.

Earnhardt will almost certainly get one before the season is out, but let's not lose sight of the fact that he's running up front weekly which has himn in strong contention for the title. He needs that title to legitimize the hype, so I'm sure he's more happy about being in great position for the Chase than he is about not having won in a while.

Point taken, I totally didn't read your post right, must've been too late last night when I replied.
Definitely would've been popular in the garage, as for the general fan population....I wouldn't know, so I'll leave that to someone who has better knowledge (One of these days I'll get myself over to a race.)

im not sure the decision was his, they told him to pit.. during his interview he said he felt he saved enoguh fuel but they didnt know how much he had saved.
If it was up to Martin im sure he would have stayed out

He is running strong every week which would indicate wins will follow. I see him winning multiple races before the season is done, and he will be right there in the battle for the championship right down to the final few races.
