An old coach of UM has passed away. Sounds like a heck of a football coach, too bad more was not written.

Before Don Read, Jack Swarthout was the greatest coach in UM history. And from what I hear he was a very cool guy.
Last year when the Griz played Northern Arizona, the 1969-70 UM Cameilla Bowl teams were presented at the game along with their leader, Coach Swarthout.
He had been battling for a while from what I hear, and after the game Coach Bobby Hauck climbed the stairs of the bleachers upto a luxury box and handed Coach Swarthout the game ball. From what I've seen and heard, he left a great influence around Missoula.
RIP Jack Swarthout.
