DAYTONA BEACH – When police raided Brandon Wright’s dorm room at Bethune-Cookman University, investigators said they discovered cocaine packaged and ready to be sold.
Wright, a sophomore football player who excelled as an International Baccalaureate student at DeLand High School and went to the U.S. Naval Academy before transferring to B-CU, now faces a slew of charges, including attempted murder, after police said he pulled a shotgun on a man who owed him money. He also bound the 21-year-old man to a toilet and when he escaped, Wright ran him over with his vehicle, police said.
Wright, a third-string quarterback with no prior criminal record, was arrested Monday at his dorm room in Thompson Hall where police seized cocaine and marijuana. The shotgun used in the attempted murder was later found in his vehicle, which was parked off campus, police said.
He didn't have a criminal record or any record of wrongdoing, so impossible to pin the blame on B-CC on this one. Unless Navy knew something... but it seems unlikely.

Hate to hear this about anyone, more so form a student athlete. It is another sign that this generation needs to embrace, that it is choices not chances that make the person whole.

Reminds me of the three Delaware football players that were arrested in 2006 for breaking into an off-campus apartment, holding two students at gunpoint and robbing them. You'd think a kid intelligent enough to go to college would have enough sense to not get involved with this kind of crap.

So SMART yet so dumb at the same time.
Smart enough for the Naval Academy and BCC yet dumb enough to do all this on campus and not think he would be caught.
Shotgun, cocaine, and MJ in the room..................ON CAMPUS.
Someting went south in this dude's head or something.

Looks like a drug deal gone bad and the dealer wanted his money.
