What do other schools do for their spring games?
Georgia Southern is aiming to get 10,000 fans out for the annual 'Blue/White' game (we had 6,000 last year).

We are encouraging tailgating, having a rugby scrimage, having a fun fair and having a player meet and greet. I believe last year we had about 2,000?

Catamount Athletics Announces Festivities Surrounding Annual Spring Game, April 19th
Event to include a 'A Taste of Tailgating' beginning at Noon when the gates open
March 26, 2008
Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina Athletics today announced the start time and festivities revolving around its annual Spring Football game, slated for Saturday, April 19. The event will kickoff with the first-ever, "A Taste of Tailgating" with area vendors providing free food samples beginning when gates open at Noon. The Spring Game will begin at 1:00 pm, and culminate with a post-game, on-field autograph session with the Catamount coaches and players.
A complete listing of the local restaurants participating in the "A Taste of Tailgating" will be posted the week prior to the Spring Game. Also, a detailed game format will be released at the same time.
Also in conjunction with the annual game, the WCU Ticket Office will unveil new seating arrangements at Whitmire Stadium for the 2008 season, as well as be offering special season ticket pricing available on-site the day of the Spring Game. Season ticket renewals for the upcoming season will also be sent out prior to the game to allow returning ticket holders to claim their seats from last season, or to be the first to make changes for '08.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Dennis Wagner, Western Carolina is scheduled to open its annual spring drills on the afternoon of Monday, March 31 at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field in Cullowhee. The squad is wrapping-up off-season, winter strength and conditioning activities this week - which included 6:00 am running and weight lifting sessions - in preparation for the first team practice.

We engage in long, thoughtful discussions about who we can possibly beat in the coming season. This year, we are confident that we can beat Webber International High School, and possibly Princeton, but we'll be lucky to win any more than that.

I'm sure your players are chomping at the bit to play at football game at 9:30 in the morning. That seems extremely early to me. Don't know if I could get there to watch the game, let alone be a player trying to get a starting spot for next year.

We typically don't have more than a few hundred come out for the Spring Game..This year the South Side Boosters will be sponsoring a "Football and Franks" under the home grandstands. Athletic Partnership contributors will get to attend a session before the game with HC Andy Coen to hear about the upcoming season and ask questions.
