CN8 has live video if you've got broad band.
Google on CN8. Then click on "now playing"
UNH just ran a flea ficker and Vilanova lost David Ball (of all things) and UNH scored on their first play...

21-10 UNH. New Hampshire had man to man on Outlaw. He beat 'em easily.
I don't think much of the defensive plan for either team. You would think that task one would be to keep Ball for UNH and Outlaw for 'Nova in front of you.
Two long scores for Ball. One long score for Outlaw

UNH has no D.If they did, they might go somewhere.

28-10 UNH. New Hampshire ran an end-around and 'Nova could not put a defensive player within 15 yards of the ball carrier...

All you need to beat UNH is a defense and an average offense :D

UNH scores again... 35-17. Nova's 'D' is lost... if they don't turn it over UNH may score 60+ points.

I like offensive battles as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous. I haven't seen one good hit yet in this game. Who taught these guys how to tackle?
On the plus side, this makes me feel better about today's UD game. If Towson "only" put up 21 on UNH, they're not doing much better against us.

My explanation for the two sacks at the end of the half is that both offensive lines are wasted.

When he is just playing catch without a D present... that isnt hard to do.

On a side note - the CN8 broadcasters aren't bad. The play-by-play guy is a little better than the color guy, though. I remember towards the beginning of the game before we knew just how bad this would get, the color guy was saying what a good job (?) a DB had done... on a play that went for 20-30 yards down inside the 10? (can't remember the specifics, but it was something like that)
But they're not bad.

UNH may not need a defense at this rate.
If they run into a team with an offense that plays at Villanova's level or higher, but with a defense that is much better, then UNH will be in trouble IMO.

With 63 scholarships, I-AA teams tend to be unbalanced. Most teams end up with more athletes on one side or the other.
Looks like both UNH and Nova have more studs on offense than defense.
Both offenses look bigger, stronger and faster than the defenses.

If this was a fight, they would stop it.

The way I see it, there are only two games UNH could lose:
UMass - because of their D (but their offense would need to step it up)
Hofstra - because their offense can hang with UNH
UNH is a lock for the playoffs. How far they go depends on matchups.

Why's everyone so down on the UNH defense? They held Villanova to 17 points today.

I don't think the Villanova offense was really much of a threat to begin with.

I think once UNH got out to that early, big lead, Nova's offense became too predictable (61 pass attempts...geeezzz). On the positive side (what little there is), 39 completions by our rookie QB wasn't too bad.
