Unless something unusual occurs, such as injury, etc, he should go down as the most dominant athlete in any sport...although I agree that it's nigh impossible to compare with team sports. Chamberlain in basketball, Gretsky in hockey, but I don't recall a sport where one person has taken it over for so long a period of time.

As I said, tough to compare versus team games, but Russell did not dominate by himself. He was a key cog in an impressive wheel with a lot of talented spokes. Tiger is out there by himself.

for you non-golfers or just for you not very good golfers the putt he made to win is very hard.

30 feet slightly downhill and breaking away from you. A putt that breaks away from a right-handed golfer is a putt that breaks left-to-right which every decent golfer will tell you is the toughest type of putt to have followed in toughness by a downhill putt.
His did both!!!!

Any of you planning to be in the nation's capital over the 4th of July holiday - consider coming out to Congressional for Tiger's ATT National tourney - price is right at about $25-$30 per ticket (in advance) and you'll get a world-class field (last year it was so crowded we had Mickelson/Adam Scott/Brad Faxon - that's a #2 + #4 + US Open champion threesome - relegated to teeing off the back nine at 7:30 am to open the tournament) highlighted, of course, by Tiger.

PM me if you're coming - I'll be marshalling at the 12th hole.

Federer in tennis.
This is much tougher IMO.

1. There are far more good golfers than tennis players in the world at the professional level.

2. You play against all 124 entrants every week.

I'll be drinking at the 12th hole. :p

Early times on the back nine on Thursday are the norm for good groups. That means they get an afternoon time on the first tee on Friday when there are bigger crowds. xpeacex

Field was great, but not as good as the 1997 Kemper, the week before the Open.

If he keeps winning he might get his own chasing history thread :p
