You got one lone QB? Who cares?! xlolx All he does is hand the ball to the massive RBs you guys use to plow through any dline and score at will! Geez. If I were your coach I would be firming the defense and building the offensive line. SELA is unstoppable on that line! xlolx xthumbsupx

They were 3-8 last season, so somebody must have stopped them. :)
Looking at the stats, they had 69 yards rushing against us last season.

Yeah..not too many people had much luck against you last year McNeese . xrulesx Records don't always tell the whole story either. But I was impressed with the Nicholls and the SELA run game last year. That was my whole point. xwhistlex

Only needed one. Our starter from last year (Brian Babin) was a sophomore, backed up by a senior (Mike Neville) who was a JUCO transfer, and we have a redshirt freshman (Eric St. Amand) in the wings.
Could still add to the mix if a DI transfer should decide to transfer our way this summer or we get a late walk-on (both probably unlikely). Our RBs should be solid again led by Jay Lucas. JUCO transfer Jasper Ducksworth and returning letterwinner Johnny Owen have each had a solid spring and the addition of Zeke Jones (6-0, 235, Fr.) will probably give us our deepest corp of RBs since bringing back football.
Also, fixed Southeastern for you. xthumbsupx

Yes, we finished 3-8 last season but we could have finished a lot better (the only sure losses were the Kansas and McNeese State games). The KU and MCN games were also probably our worst two games on the ground all season.
We had our chances at New Mexico State and with the exception of Matt Forte's game, would have taken care of Tulane. Take away close losses to Central Arkansas, Northwestern State and Sam Houston State and a loss at Texas State (where we moved the ball at will, just couldn't get into the end zone) and there's at least five wins right there.

Forgive me Southeastern fans. :o I have seen the word SELA somewhere so I used that abbreviation. I went back and looked at the Southeastern/UCA game and I noticed both teams had literally no defense. We couldn't stop the run and you had no chance of stopping the pass. Well, you did get and INT. xlolx Anyway, I was impressed with your RBs, just as I was impressed with the Nicholls RBs. But hopefully this year our defense will be much better (after losing 11(?) to graduation the year before and some to the pros) and having another year of experience under their belt they will perform much better. UCA has never been known for it's defense, but since joining the Southland and being able to recruit from Louisiana and Texas and having more scholarships available, our defense should improve with time. But I see several teams this year in the Southland making massive strides to dethroning McNeese, who is the elite team in the Southland. This year the Southland should have 2 teams in the playoffs..neither of which will be UCA..xsmhx xlolx xlolx (D*** transition rules)xmadx xmadx xlolx

Actually we played pretty good defense against you guys...especially compared to everybody else. We held you to your third lowest total offense output of the season and under 5.0 yards per play. You had to throw it 52 times to get 343 through the air and very few big plays. We completely shut down your running game. Had it not been for four plays, we would have held you to 14 points. The fumble right before the half when we were running out the clock...the punt return for at TD, and the 4th and 1 we didn't get late in the game that would have iced it. There was also a safety. The 37 points were very misleading as to how we played against a good offense.

Since you don't know UCAs system in the past, we tend to throw it a whole bunch....a whole bunch. Our Oline was good for pass protection last year but not for opening up holes for the run game. As for the other points we scored, not a bad effort by a very very young offensive team jam packed with freshman. Our big hang up, as I've said is defense. That's on my birthday wish list..xlolx xlolx Can't wait to play Southeastern again this year! xthumbsupx

I know UCA's system very well...I saw you play several times in Conway when you were still D-II.
You guys averaged 39 attempts and 159 yards per game rushing last year...had 26 attempts and 41 yards against us...You threw it as many as 52 times twice last year...against La Tech and us. As far as being young, we played as many as seven true freshmen on defense and all seven were in on the last drive of the game when you scored the winning TD. We know about being young.

.......sounds like growing pains for both schools. How long has Southeastern been at this level of football? Do most of your recruits come from a packed and talented state like Louisiana? And we should have beaten La. Tech. (dang INTs in the red zone xlolx )
...now back to your signing class list. PM me the answers to this post. xthumbsupx

Resumed football in 2003 and have been I-AA/FCS since. Spent first two seasons as an Independent before joining the Southland in 2005 (were already members in all other sports since 1997-98)
