Guess won't see you in the WNIT then xbawlingx xnodx. How do you think MTSU chances are of dancing?
AR-LR has already accepted their auto-bid invitation to the WNIT. xthumbsupx

Not really slaughtered. I watched that game. It was evidenced though throughout the season that MTSU would not win the Sun Belt. You don't lose to Western Carolina AND Chattanooga and expect to win a Sun Belt title.
However, it's safe to say that the loss of the 6'7" and 6'6" Duffy sisters before the season started and after signing day made it too late to find any replacements hurt MTSU this year in addition to Johnna Abney quitting.
You can't win games when you only have 8 players and only one player over 6'0". Western Kentucky with probably one of their best teams in history (must be since Crystal Kelly has her jersey retired) won against the worst team MTSU has fielded since they were members of the OVC. Scary how good MTSU COULD be if they were at full strength.
I hear MTSU still has small-man mentality going on. Typical of Sun Belt teams. A WNIT invite is the greatest thing that could ever happen. For real teams it's not. That may work for Western Kentucky, but if MTSU is the power they've come to be known as, then they will do this year what La Tech did last year--reject a WNIT bid if the NCAA bid doesn't come.
However, MTSU already has unofficially accepted a WNIT bid. I always knew MTSU was small time. They'll always be small time. Their fans are too stupid to realize it, but that is the case. They are small time. That's why they play in the Suck Belt with a bunch of other schools that are small time players trying to pass off as members of a Division 1-A conference.

If MTSU gets an NCAA invite, it will be reputation that got them there. They do not deserve a bid this year. You lose 11 games on a season with losses to Chattanooga AND Western Carolina. You get beaten by 15 points by a Suck Belt team in a tournament title game. You have a team that is abysmal when it comes to not fouling. MTSU looked like a bunch of lost misfits this year.
I do not see MTSU going to the NCAA Tournament. They'll go to the WNIT and probably wind up losing in the first or second round because they are bad. People don't realize how bad MTSU was this year. The entire Scum Belch was terrible evidenced by it's 15th rank in RPI when it was 7th last year. Western Kentucky will lose in the first round of the NCAA's as well. None of those teams are world beaters this year.

I'll note the UT-Chatty and WCU were 1-2 in the SoCon this year. Chatty beat quite a few GOOD teams on the Women's side.
AR-LR is the Auto Select (#2 Sunbelt), so IF MTSU makes it, it is as an AT-Large, and over at the sdsufans.com/board, I'm picking that nobody above 88 gets in as an AT-Large to the WNIT. Not up to MTSU standards of last year, but still in the top 25% of D-I.
