The Eagles cut Takeo Spikes today, citing confidence in their young linebackers, including Akeem Jordan.

EDIT: And, just so I'm not a complete homer...also Chris Gocong

Sounds to me like the rotator cupp is not healing, otherwise I'd love to have him sign a 1 year with the Panthers......

Wonder what they'll do with the $$$ saved from cutting him.

Condsidering its the Eagles, probably nothing. What would be nice is Larry Fitzgerald.

Hey there is little homerism about that. That is just a fact. He will definitely benefit from Spikes leaving but he proved his worth last year by stepping in and doing a nice job.

Great news for Jordan - he won't start for the Eagles (they'll go with Gocong and Gaither outside and Bradley in the middle) but being the 4th LB is a pretty good gig and a great acheivement.

Yea, I think you're right. They'll move some things around. But, like you say, 4th LB is a good gig. Plus, I think that they're pretty happy with his special teams' play.
