Yo, Harvard! Take some of that Tommy Amaker walkin'-around money and buy a lax team!!!xnodx

That poll means Harvard will finish ahead of only Columbia in lax -- if Columbia has lax.xsmhx

Anybody care to offer some insight on why the majority of successful lacrosse schools are "smart kid" schools?

I mean Hopkins, Duke, Virginia, UNC, Notre Dame, Cornell, Georgetown, Princeton, Navy, Army, Bucknell, Harvard, Yale....

Sounds like the potential college list of a high school valedictorian.

My guess it that lacrosse was played primarily at private HS and prep schools in many areas for a long time. Around here they are certainly the best ones... Landon, Georgetown Prep, Bullis, etc...

UD's win against UMBC is looking better. Watched Hopkins host UMBC & it was a one-goal game until about 3 minutes left.

Princeton is suspect this year. They go shelled by Hopkins and Towson blew them away in the last pre-season scrimmage. They play UVA, Hofstra and Albany next up. They'll be lucky to be .500.

Loyola is pretty good this year.

For me, lacrosse = hockey. In that, I just can't get into the sport. I have no idea what's going on, players are running all over the place, I don't understand the rules, and why do they have upper body pads but nothing covering their legs????

With that said, go Blue Hens!!
