Note - ASU means Arizona State.

NM Highlands is a DII school.

SUU is a road game this year. Home in 2009

Looks like a good schedule. I am surprised they did not try and schedule 12 games. If NAU makes the playoffs they will have a bye (Nov. 22nd) the week before they start.

yea, I was a bit disappointed that they didnt try to schedule 12 games. I think that they have the talent to play with most temas in the country so scheduling another game at our level shouldn't have been a problem

I'm still surprised at the number of teams playing only 11 games. xeyebrowx

Where's the return game? What did you do buy them out?

There was no buyout. It was a one-and-done deal. xnodx

Was this game scheduled as a last minute fill-in game? I only ask because it seems rare to have one and done games that have one team travel across the country.

I believe that was pretty much the case, yes. ASU was desperate for a home game, ponied up some money, and the Jacks provided a fun game to watch. xthumbsupx

either way....I think it would be a great opportunity for both teams and FCS if ASU made the return trip to play NAU this season

It was a last minute fill-in game. I remember reading when the game was scheduled that ASU picked up the travel costs and gave NAU an additional 150-200K to play them. They were pretty desperate to get a home game. The home and home was brought up, and it was said that ASU wasnt really interested in making a trip back to Flagstaff, but if they were to consider it, they would only pickup NAU's travel costs to Boone. Knowing that NAU attendance is bad and wouldnt come close to covering the 150-200K ASU was offering them, I guess the NAU brass just decided to take the money and run.
