I thought about this last week when I saw the speeds they were hitting at Fontana. They probably need a few more runs there to decide since the new car accelerates so much quicker. With the old car, I though they needed to increase the restrictor plate openings a bit to help out, but with this car, that doesn't seem as necessary.

I dont know if you read the article, but its not so much just based on current speeds, but Michael Waltrip was talking to the track president this week, they plan to repave the track and Waltrip suggested they adjust the track some to make it more of a restrictor type layout.

With the major repaving project the track president said its possible to do that, though she hasnt discussed it with NASCAR yet, she seemed intrigued.

I'm sure the final decision will be made based off Rick Hendrick thinks is best for his teams. xlolx

This is not going to happen, not even worth discussing.

Agreed. I don't bother watching the restrictor plate races. Give me Bristol any day!

I like the tracks and the speeds at Talledega, Atlanta, and Daytona, but i don't like the bunching up at 200 MPH. It's too dangerous.

Again I agree. I don't like the fact that the strongest car needs drafting help to win. No matter how good you are you can't pull away - which is why they are all bunched up. If there was a way to solve that problem I would like the superspeedways as well.

I like Talledega, because the field is like a monstrous, noisy fluid moving at 200 miles per hour. It pools up, splits in half, re-pools into one massive, angry blob, each individual particle constantly moving around in the mixture.

The draft is interesting because of the strategery and gamesmanship involved. Which horse you back is the one you can ride the farthest and fastest - or the one you don't think is a born idiot capable of killing both of you. Choosing wisely can take you from 20th place to the lead in a matter of laps, and a bad decision can leave you sliding all the way to the back. It's about who you can use, and when it comes down to the end, who you should screw.

Good assesment and props for the use of "strategery". If only the rep rules were'nt keeping me from rewarding you.
