Attendance is not Furman's issue. While it would be great to cram 20,000 in there every week, we still overachieve attendance-wise considering our miniscule student body. The issue is getting the 13,000 or so that show up to make some noise.

It is no one arm salute, the students have both of their hands up waiting for the kickoff to happen. Then when the ball is kicked the students drop their hands. At the same time the students are yelling "ahhhh" and the pitch goes up as the kicker approaches the ball and then drops suddenly as the ball is being kicked.

It's F'ing BS too! I complained about it here earlier in the year and got smacked down by alot of former band memebers from other schools, saying they go to every game they should have good seats. The expensive seats (LOL) are between the 40 yard lines. The band is right next to them. Its loud and annoying at times. They should be on the end.

Thinking back to the Delaware fiasco, they might have moved the band down further because of the Homecoming crowd and the band leaving early before the fireworks is an easy way to clear that of the stands.

When I attended, we had the same number of students and basically three large buildings for classrooms. The way things are going we are going to have a building to student ratio similar to our professor to student ratio.xcoolx :D

Atmosphere at W&M improved dramatically when we started playing at night.

We had the opposite experience at Jax State this year. Seems every home kickoff we had (except for a Thursday night game) was 2 p.m. or earlier. That's a brutal time of day to spend three hours outside in Alabama, even in October. Seemed like lots of people decided to stay home this year.

We had the opposite experience at Jax State this year. Seems every home kickoff we had (except for a Thursday night game) was 2 p.m. or earlier. That's a brutal time of day to spend three hours outside in Alabama, even in October. Seemed like lots of people decided to stay home this year.

Actually, since this is an atmosphere thread, that's a decent link. That night was the best feeling there'd been in Paul Snow Stadium in a long time, and it's been kinda downhill ever since. The high water mark of JSU football's DI era so far has been that moment with 1 second left that we all thought we'd won it. Then it was all snatched away.

I was in Greenville for the '06 game, and saw Justin Stepp walking around outside the stadium before the game. My mood soured immediately. Stupid ball-catchin' jerk. ;)

You are homecoming this year. So I think you just may get a fly-over. They will do it for certain on opening day and Veterans day, which is the game after yours, so maybe not being so close. You guys will get something though. The Penguin comes in from the Pittsburgh zoo and aviary, maybe you will get that. The dinner is before every game, but I would recommend a stroll through the tailgate lots, much better food xthumbsupx
