Jimmy Rollins hit the first pitch to him into the seats in right field to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Ties Ed Delahanty's 31 game hitting streak record for the Phillies. THe homer also was Rollins 13th lead off hr as a Phillie--one shy of Juan Samuel's team record of 14. A PHils win tonight puts them 1/2 game back of the 'stros.

I call SHENANIGANS on ngineer!!!!
With 6 games left and the Phils trailing the Astros by 1 game, the last thing we need is bad juju which is what will happen if you mention "his" name. You know who I mean... the 2B man the Phils kept instead of Julio Franco or Ryne Sandberg!

After all my years following the Phils, I can't say I believe in "juju"--if I did I would have drunk the kool aid a long time ago :D

DAMN YOU ngineer!!!! You just had to mention "HIS" name, didn't you! Now I see on espn.com that the Mets scored 4 in the top of the 8th. I'm going to bed before I smash my monitor!

Urbina is horrible. Hard to believe the GM of the Detroit Tigers could be laughing at Ed Wade, but I am pretty sure it's true.

Worst GM...in any sport...ever.

Repeat after me: "JOBU!" That was the little voodoo doll in "Major League." Bad karma, mon.

Too bad the season has to end.

Anyone know if a streak like this is allowed to carry over to next season?? I mean, if he gets a hit in their last 3 games.

Listening to Mike and Mike this morning, they seemed to indicate that it would, but I only caught a second of the discussion.

It will definitely carry over if it continues through the last game of the year. They treat pitcher win streaks the same way.

In the event the Phils would make the playoffs, do those game count toward 'the streak'?--I would think they would. A game is a game, whether it's playoffs, world series or whatnot.
