They have 3 more years starting July 1, 2008.

July 1, 2008 the following programs will be no longer in transition:

A-Sun:
Kennesaw State
North Florida

Independents:
New Jersey Institute of Technology
Utah Valley University

So is NC Central to the MEAC all but assured at this point, or are their legit, dealbreaking reasons why no announcement has been made so far?

The MEAC may be taking up NCCU's admission this Spring or Summer.

WSSU has been officially invited and are playing a full MEAC schedule. There is much speculation that the MEAC is trying to iron out the details of a divisional format with 11 schools (if NCCU were to be admitted).
