Bryan Smith showed why he is someone who changed the nature of the game when he was in at the FCS level. He was one of the "top performers" among defensive line in every category at the combine reported so far at NFL.com except for the bench press (the 60 yard shuttle isn't up yet). If you look at his link, it looks really good:

I don't know if you'll find a player from a FCS school that is listed as a "top performer" in as many categories as he is.

The bad news: At 228 pounds, he's really competing against linebackers. He would still be a "top performer" in two events (verticle and broad jumps) as a linebacker. But he's small even for a linebacker in the NFL and I think needed to get a better 40 time.

Tell you what, though, I'll really miss seeing him play for McNeese.

John, You should be old enough to know that although his stats are impressive at the combine for the category he was put in, they mean little in the big picture... The combine is mostly a Boys week out for NFL Coaches and scouts to gather and hobnob.

Either you can play or you can't.. Size means little outside of the OL and DL, so if he does become a LB, he will be fine if he has the work ethic. Zach Thomas was also considered too small and he made a 13 yr career so far as have been many others and many positions.. Sam Mills, Wayne Chrebet, Drew Brees, La Roi Glover, etc.
