What player personnel individual (GM, President, etc) do you admire the most? After watching the Pistons destroy the Suns yesterday, I'm going with Joe Dumars. He's built and maintained a team that has been a contender in the Eastern Conference this entire decade.

This is a homer pick for me...
John Schuerholz, Braves (Former GM).
I also admire...
Bob Kraft (hate to admit it)
Theo Epstein (ditto)
Jim Irsay

I was going to have my two homer picks, Schuerholz and Dan Rooney of the Steelers.

Not necessarily for his player-personnell moves, but how about Isaiah Thomas. I admire his ability to keep a job...

It does amaze. I loved him as a player though, college and pro.

While I don't disagree, imagine how highly rated Dumars would be if they didn't botch the 2003 draft and had Wade, Carmelo or Bosh on the roster right now.

The Darko fiasco? Yeah, that turned out to be a huge mistake. I think the reasoning was that with T. Prince on board, they needed to go big instead of drafting a small forward. In hindsight I wish they had taken Bosh, but I don't recall anybody questioning the pick at that time. Oh well.
