I was watching SportsCenter and Andy Katz reported that Indiana and Sampson have reached a settlement that would terminate Sampson immediately. There's suppose to be a press conference shortly to announce the decision.

Not bad...violate your probation...and get $750K

Where do I find a job like that....

This is just a messy situation. Half of the team is boycotting the schools decision and there's rumors that they might not make the trip to Northwestern tomorrow. There's arguing who should take over for Sampson. The players want McCallum but he was one of the guys who had close ties to Sampsons phone gate, the school wants Dakish(sp?). No matter what happens Indiana is most likely one team you can eliminate from a deep tourney run.

As long as they don't poach Tony Bennett I am fine with whatever they do.

Maybe they could get Matt Doherty. I liked the work he did in Chapel Hill.

I was going to make a Sam the Eagle/Matt Doherty joke, but Google Image Search has informed me that it's already been done. Le sigh.

I think we all liked the work he did in Chapel Hill, and by "we" I mean "everyone except for Carolina fans," and by "work" I mean "lost a lot of games, made fun of Duke's cheerleaders and tried to get all slappy on Chris Collins"

Sampson is a Jim Harrick clone.

So, which smaller-conference school desperate for some level of success and willing to look the other way at Sampson's past will offer him a contract to save their program in 2-3 years?

I wouldn't be suprised if the NCAA institutes a "No Show" clause on Sampson for maybe 2-3 years which basically bans any school from attempting to hire him. What Sampson did was stupid and wrong but coaches have done far worse in the past. Some people are comparing him to Harrick, Sutton, Haskins etc., which isn't fair. He deserved to be fired but i don't see this as a complete career killer if he gets his ***** together.

Lord knows Wofford needs another coach, but if they got Sampson I'd be pretty pissed off.
