Sorry, was checking out the wedding pictures...

Hornswoggle was Fit Finlay's manager. He got pulled from under the ring and would beat up folks and run back under. He even wrestled a few mixed midget matches (Fit/Hornswoggle vs BoogieMan/Little BoogeyMan).

They did this storyline about Vince sleeping with some broad years ago and that he had an illegitimate son. While we all think they are going to really shock us with something that turns the storyline for a twist, it ends up being Hornswoggle...

Hornswoggle has since feuded with Great Khali and even made an appearance in the Royal Rumble...

rasslin' died when WCW died.

I disagree...WCW was garbage for the last few years of their existence. WWE was already competing against "no one" at that time and the wrestling wars were pretty much over. There's a good book on the death of WCW. They had no clue what they were doing there for the last few years...

If anything, wrestling died a bit before that though I think that we're about to see another strong period of wrestling. TNA is picking up a bit more steam and hopefully, they'll get some more TV time, really pushing the WWE and giving them more legitimate competition...

I haven't read that book but I paged through it the other day at Barnes and Noble. You're right about the last few years of WCW. Things went downhill once Eric Bischoff took over. When Vince Russo came in things really went into the garbage can.

During its heyday WCW Monday Nitro was kicking (then) WWF's Monday Night Raw's a$$ all over the place; the ratings proved it.

I've only seen TNA once but it looks like a pretty good promotion.

I do not agree...

Eric Bischoff came in and was the reason WCW really kicked WWE's tail. He was behind the nWo and all that jazz that really took off. He also was the one who made the nWo concept ridiculous, which led to it tanking and WWE taking over...

Yes, he may have sent WCW downhill, but he took them to a level that "Cowboy" Bill Watts, Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes sure couldn't when they were in charge of the booking...

As bad as WCW was in 2000 and 2001 before they got 86'ed, it was still one of TNT's top programs as far as the ratings go and it something that those of us who didn't care for WWF could watch and enjoy. TNA sucks, but then again Vince Russo (see WCW in 2000) is doing the script writing for them. Nuff said.

You had to see the entire lead up to him being identified as McMahnn's son.
They had every wrestler on the show for week's pondering the thought of being McMhann's son.
White, black, even Triple H who is married to his daughter Stephanie in real life. xlolx

You know HHH had fun with that one. xlmaox
He bought out 3 old flames of Vince trying to figure out which wrestler could be Vince's son and one of the women was supposed to be a man in drag that Vince didn't know about until after HHH got him to admit he had sex with all three of them in his past. xlmaox

That skit was funny as hell each week. xlolx

So where did spanking Hornswoggle with his belt come into play?

He's been putting his "son" in no win situation's each week to teach him how to be a McMahnn........... tough, Ruthless. xlolx
Matches against heavyweight's, 7 footers, 500lb'ers, etc.

He put him in a handicap match against 2 wrestler's once and it was no DQ.
Vince told him to use his McMahnn brain to figure out how to win.

He hired these 2 guy's to beat the heck out the other 2 so he could get the pinning fall.

Hornswaggle got the guy that was in the ring with him to help him last week when Vince was going to make him a member of the KISS MY ARSE CLUB.

Meaning...........Vince makes you come to the ring and actually kiss his thong covered arse. xlolx
Before he came down last week for Hornswaggle, Vince actually had a car detailer giving his arse a BUFF SHINE JOB in the locker room. xlolx
Had BUTTSHINE CREAM and everything. xlolx

First 2 member's of the kiss my arse club. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh7JJDtlgHk&feature=related)

Fenley was there to stop it but in the end, instead of KISSING Vince's arse, Hornswaggle locked down on it a bit the hell out of him.
Vince swore to get both of them with a steal cage match.

The Irish guy, FENLEY, was the person that bought Hornswaggle into wrestling when he came so they are supposed to be like brothers on the show.

[B]Old School Wrestling died when Mid South Wrestling died.

They all came to Mid-Atlantic/Georgia/Florida and helped to build Jim Crockett Promotions, which eventually became the only surviving promotion in the NWA and challenged the WWF for wrestling supremacy. JCP became the WCW and the rest is history. The NWA- with all of its promotions- was the best wrestling ever had to offer. Wrestling now is a poor imitation of what I used to watch growing up. Watching Ernie bust Dusty up in Florida, Ray Candy and Pork Chop Cash run through Memphis, Dusty destroy Kevin Sullivan, Gary Hart's stable war with Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Jr. (Barry Windham), etc., were some of the greatest Saturdays a young man could have asked for.

ESPN Classic shows UWF sometimes late at night, I think on Friday nights or something like that. I've gotten to see a good Dr Death vs Mr Wonderful feud plus old Cactus Jack and Luna Vachon when she was "different" than she was in the WWE...

I've Tivoed it. It is the third incarnation of UWF, when it was owned by the WWF. It is boring at best.

Yeah, I typically fast-forward through it outside of matches between two individuals I know (i.e Dr Death/Mr Wonderful) and Captain Lou's segment...

Wrestling was indeed much better when it was regionalized. You and I have had some good discussions about those days. I recall Mid-Atlantic wresting when I lived in VA during the late 60's. Good call about Jim Crockett Promotions, they're the promotion that put Ric Flair on the map.

Another good promotion was the Von Erich's promotion in Texas (I can't recall the name of it), I remember seeing a couple of classic matches involving our buddy Flair. One was against Kevin Von Erich the other was against Kerry at Texas Stadium. Flair barely held on to the NWA title against Kevin but lost it in the match vs. Kerry.

The good old days of wrestling; gone forever. :(

To answer the original question, yes Hornswaggle is Vince McMahon's "illegitimate son". It was a pretty interesting buildup to it as we found out apparently all wrestlers moms sleep around.

This was a spinoff of the Vince McMahon "death" angle that was stopped when the Benoit tragedy happened. Originally his "son" was suppose to be Mr Kennedy (...Kennedy) but he got suspended due to steroids (after going on CNN and saying he stopped taking them two years ago....dumba**) so they had to change it at almost the last minute and so they went the comedy route and went with Hornswaggle. Ever since Vince has had contempt for his "son" and thrown him in matches and such. Now Fit Finlay, Hornswoggle's friend and Irish buddy, is standing up for him, more than likely leading up to Finlay vs McMahon at Wrestlemania.

And the Von Erich promotion was World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW). There was a couple DVD's made about that company that details it's rise and fall. One made by Big Vision Entertainment called "Heroes of World Class" (http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-World-Class-Wrestling-Harrison/dp/B000I2JDD0) was excellent and the other made by WWE called "Triumph and Tragedy: The Story of WCCW" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LC3IKQ/ref=pd_cp_d_1?pf_rd_p=316286001&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I2JDD0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=11XEZJE6RSZW705WBGE3).

WCCW of the saddest stories in wrestling. A family and a promotion headed by Fritz Von Erich, had five sons, David, Kerry, Kevin, David and Chris (another son, Jack, the oldest, died from electrocution at age 7). Today, only Kevin is alive. I remember Kevin saying in it "I once had five brothers, now I'm not even a brother." It's definately a story worth checking out for old-school wrestling fans.
