We pulled the Senior QB Hager and put in the Freshman Swanson. He lead them to 10 unanswered points to close the first half.
End of first half: UNC 10 Portland State 14

Correction on Hager being pulled, as it turns out he seperated his shoulder. The announcers just found out during half time. So he wasn't pulled.

Our secondary is playing well, keeping us in the game. Let's see what T.J can do.

We choked this one away, two turn overs in our own territory in a row. Both lead to touchdowns.
Turnovers on the road equal loses.

on the bright side. SDSU lost again and so did NDSU. We might not lose too much ground in the conference if we lose this one

Dang, our defense sucks. PSU's tailback is good, not doubt, but I think I can run against the Bears defense. The defense used to be our pride and joy for UNC. This year they just plain suck. It could be a llllooooonnnnggggg year.

I am really dissapointed with the way we played tonight. We need to hurry and get those scholarships up so we can compete with PSU and the other Big Sky teams. We just don't have the athletes yet. It doesn't get any easier as we play Cal Poly next week.

3 turnovers in the second half will kill any team. They killed up but we gave it away also. They beat us up and stole our lunch money. It's a good lesson to learn. We aren't that far off. The score will show we got destroyed but we hung around until the mistakes killed us.

I think what happened to you guys tonight is similar to what happened to us at your place last weekend. When you turn the ball over on the road and get behind, it's tough to win no matter who you play. Just flush it and move on. You guys are an improved team regardless of the record.

Listened to as much as I could before I had to go to work. Sounds like we finally found our offense. That and a whole lotta Rubin. He's having a good year so far. Even Oregon State could not stop him (153 yards there). I am not sure what happened to him at Davis, but it sounds like he made up for it here. On to Cheney next week.
