UMass takes on the Rams on ESPN2 at 9:00 tonight (http://umassathletics.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/021108aac.html).
UMass needs the win to keep a shot at an NCAA bid alive.

I saw the UMass-Temple game on Sunday. The Minutemen have some sharpshooters! Gotta stay with 'em around the 3-point line.

Fordham has not really put it all together this season. Hope this is the night!

When UMass' shots are dropping their whole game goes up several notches. When our shooting is off, we don't play well.
We need to finish strong in the conference for a chance of a NCAA bid.
Actually, this was supposed to be a transition year and everyone was thinking .500. 15-8 and some big wins against Syracuse and others has everyone kinda overreaching.

Exactly.....I think the Minutemen have had an outstanding season considering the number of Freshmen on the team...and the players lost to graduation...
I think they were picked for the 8th spot in the pre-season A-10 poll...so their season to-date is much bette than expected...

Dj has it right. This actually has been a great season. UMass has really played well in some difficult arenas. I think this is the most enjoyable UMass team in years. When our shots are falling we can beat anybody. After years of grind-it-out offense, we run and shoot. When I think of all those games I went to----games where we would have 18 points at the half. My basketball buddy, who goes to the games with me use to say "If we make it to 60 points, we'll win!" One game this year we scored 58 points in one half.... xnodx
Now, if they don't win every game, some fans are on the message boards complaining their heads off.

I'm just glad to see the A-10 get some national exposure. We need more! I just hope both teams play well.

Pretty good night so far over here. Fordham hanging tough with UMass at halftime, down by just one. Wagner keepin' the dream alive, won again in 2OT.

TREMENDOUS game. A mess, but tremendous.
I don't think those ESPN announcers ever said how many lead changes there were. Must have been like 20. Most of the time, it was a one-point game.

"Fordham made 22-of-31 free throws to the Minutemen's 8-of-11."
Hmm, VISITING team went to the line 31 times vs. 11 for the HOME team. Pretty unusual! And Fordham even missed a lot of foul shots, so that 31 could probably have been more.

Good win by Fordham. As I said in my original post, UMass needs good shooting to win.
Good game though. High intensity and the announcers seemed into it.

Congrats to Fordham...
And despite all the moaners on UMass boards, this team is still exceeding pre-season expectations...
