I don't think you'll see Bryant on UA's schedule this year. That spot is likely taken by UNH, Delaware, or UMass. Which is a pretty clear showing of UA's hand in this issue.

Surprisingly they are going this in every sport. Watching the weekly round up. Basketball next year is playing BYU, Maryland, Boston College, Iowa, Army, and Syracuse. That is a huge schedule for a 1st year transition team. Sports like baseball are already have teams like BC, FAU, FIU, Miami, CofC really surprised at how strongly they are attacking scheduling.

They have an ambitious President who approaches everything that way. He took some heat when he first decided to go with a football program but he stuck to his convictions and did so anyway. The result was a highly successful D-II program. I have no doubt they'll do well in the FCS.

To go off of that an interesting fact. In 1996 when Machtley took over as president the school had an endowment/lack of endowment of -1.7million dollars. They had a huge deficit and were on the verge to close. They were converting the suites for students into apartment style to sell etc. Out of the 14 residencies only 5 were filled. The school was in horrible shape. Well in just over 10 years the school now has a 178 million dollar endowment. So in 10 years he raised almost 180 million dollars and completely turned the school around. It is impressive what he has done.
