UTC took in 10 JUCO players in their 2008 recruiting class. I personally don't like it but most Moc fans are happy and see this as a quick fix to our losing ways. We also have 13 high school kids coming to Chattanooga.

I am curious on the amount of JUCOs other schools took.

UCA had 7 mid-year transfers I believe; 6 JUCO and 1 BCS transfer.

All were defensive players except one punter/kicker.

Of our 16 or 17 recent signings an additional 1 was a JUCO.

Out of 25 Recruits only 3 were transfers. 2-JUCO and 1-BIG XII.
Coach Wright didn't want to go after transfers and recruited a well balanced class of HS players. The focus was on speed and we now have it.

Out of 32 total, eight are JC transfers. We needed three JC offensive linemen, a LB and CB due to numbers and needing to get our class balance in line. The others we took because we felt they were impact guys and were available. No FBS transfers though I think we have a couple of spots available in case someone shows up this summer. It would have to be the right fit though.

At this point, I think ASU has one JUCO. He has been in CA but originally from Shelby,NC,,,so he is essentially coming home.

Attended game couple years at UTC, and noticed in program a large number of transfers from either 1A, 1AA or Jr College to your program. Is this the standard practice at UTC, or just trying to get the "quick fix" you spoke about?

Hard to say, I think Rodney Allison came in thinking he was going to develop players from HS. Remember UTC's top ten recruiting classes 4-5 years ago. Very few of those players actually made it to Chattanooga and those that did washed out. The attrition rate from Allison's first two classes is absolutely atrocious. In response Allison has gone the "quick fix" route of signing multiple JUCOs. He is in the last year of his contract and is in a must win situation to keep his job. He is comprimising the future health of this program to save his own a**.

Whatever happened with the wide receiver from Ohio State who was supposed to be transferring to Appalachian? We heard about him when the news came out about the Ohio State quarterback transferring to Delaware, but zippo since.

One player Mishak AKA "Shack" had Texas Tech and SMU mak a late run at him but was approched by UT and LSU early. I posted an article about him on the thread Texas Terror started about our AD. He went under Rivals Radar but was a solid pick up. Another Player was recruited by UTEP and another by RICE. Brent on BobcatFans is going to break down a list of all the players that had offers from FBS teams.
